overwatch
- they're a little bit overwhelming when you first become friends, talking your ear off whenever they can
- "so! what was becoming (your role) like?! i bet it was SUPERRR difficult! you must've had a lot of competition when you tried out! did you originally start off with that weapon? or did you change it through out the years? same with your costume, did that change or
stay the same? my family thinks i'm a little *whistles* because i've been your BIGGEST fan ever since you first joined!"
"oh, thank you, venture."
"please! call me sloan!"
- they are your biggest cheerleader EVER. in a match with you or not, you will being hearing your name being cheered, which makes you unbelievably flustered
- they take a little bit to understand your lingo and your social cues, but they're quick to catch on once they understand
- you aren't super chatty with them, letting them do most of the talking out of the two of you
- you secretly enjoy listening to them talk about their adventures before joining overwatch (you'd never admit it to them now)
- when you do butt into conversations, venture will-surprisingly- shut up and look at you while bitting their lip in excitement
- they'd sometimes show up to your dorm and try to have sleepovers/hangout with you but you'd always decline
- as time went on, the two of you got more comfortable, chatting more often, hanging outside of matches (sleepovers, hangouts in each others dorm etc.)
- the two of you have a lot of inside jokes with one another, just looking at one another with wicked looks will make you both burst out laughing while the others watch in concern

archeology
- during the drive to the site, they were very chatty, talking about all of their previous finds and what they hope to find at the new site
- you also talk about your previous finds, showing them some pictures of the fossils, rocks, pots, etc. you found weeks/months/years ago
- they were VERY impressed and hopeful that you two found find some great stuff!
- after the first expedition, the two of you BEGGED your boss to partner you two up in the future; just sloan and you. no one else.
"PLEASEEEEE???"
"IVE NEVER LIKED YOU BUT PLEASEEEE???"
"y/n? what the fuck are you two talking abo-"
"PLEASEEE???"
- on the drives to the sites you were assigned to, you two will blast songs and scream-sing along to them, windows down while going WAY over the speed limit (like there is a speed limit in the middle of no where)
sloan: "WHEN YOU CRIED, ID WIPE AWAY ALL OF YOUR TEARS!"
y/n: "WHEN YOUD SCREAM, ID FIGHT AWAY ALL OF YOUR FEARS!"
both: *gripping each others hands (sloan's right and your left) while they drive* "AND I HELD YOUR HAND THROUGH ALL THESE YEARS"
both: *turning to look each other in the eyes, leaning towards each other while still holding hands* "BUT YOU STILL HAVE ALL OF ME!"
- sense meeting sloan, you've definitely warmed up to them and your other coworkers
- when sloan broke the news to you that they were leaving for overwatch, you were upset, but obviously excited for them!! this was a big deal!
- if you went to join them, they were over the moon about you coming along! which means more time together!
- if you stayed at your current job, they were reasonably upset, but understood why you stayed behind. but you two promised at bunch of hangouts and calls!
- the two of you would occasionally give the other rocks (sloan was mainly the one to give you rocks) so you both have rock collections somewhere in your rooms!
