As the three made their way back to the station, they were met with an eerie silence. The survivors were gone. Chris, Emma, and Carl exchanged worried glances.

"What? Where is everyone?" Emma's voice was a mixture of panic and confusion.

Chris scanned the area, his mind racing. "They might have come here and decided to head to the Utilidor. It's the safest place. We have to get there."

Carl nodded, his face pale but resolute. They stepped outside again, cautiously navigating the dark, vampire-infested streets.

The ominous silence was periodically broken by distant, unsettling sounds that hinted at the lurking danger.

Suddenly, they saw vampires roaming around, their shadows moving menacingly.

The three quickly took shelter under a raised house, pressing themselves against the wooden beams.

As they caught their breath, Emma's eyes widened in horror. In the middle of the road stood a young boy, his face pale with fear. "Alex!" Emma whispered urgently, recognizing the boy from the town.

Ignoring Chris and Carl's attempts to hold her back, Emma darted out from their hiding spot. "Alex, come here!" she called softly, waving him over.

The boy hesitated for a moment before running toward her. Emma grabbed him and hurried back under the house, her heart pounding.

Chris looked at Emma, a mixture of admiration and worry in his eyes. "We’ll meet you at the Utilidor," he said, his voice firm. He handed her a walkie-talkie, an item they had long forgotten.

"Use this to stay in contact. We need to split up to make sure we all get there safely."

Emma nodded, clutching the walkie-talkie tightly. She took a deep breath, ready to face the next leg of their perilous journey. "Be careful, Chris. You too, Carl."

With a determined look, Emma and Alex began their trek to the Utilidor.

Chris and Carl, meanwhile, prepared to create a distraction for the vampires. They knew it was a dangerous task, but it was the only way to ensure Emma and Alex's safety.

Chris watched Emma and Alex disappear into the darkness, his heart heavy with worry and hope.

He turned to Carl, who gave him a resolute nod. "Let's give them a fighting chance," Carl said.

The two men moved from their hiding spot, making noise to draw the vampires' attention.

As the undead creatures turned toward the sound, Chris and Carl sprinted in the opposite direction, leading the horde away.
