My eyes fluttered open when I felt my mind awaken from its slumber. I groaned and felt the sun's rays seep through my curtains and hit my eyelids. I groaned and stirred in my bed, rubbing my eyes before sitting up. Once the sleepy fog cleared from my senses, I felt a presence beside me. I turned and found Lisa lying on her stomach, arms still fast asleep.

I was a little surprised and confused at first until I remembered the events that took place not too long ago. What happened at the bar club, the tension in my car on our way to my apartment, our fight, our intense yet passionate sex we had soon after, Lisa's words.

I continued watching her, mesmerized by the way she slept. The way the bed sheet covered her lower body and showed off her naked back skin. The way she lay on her stomach with her head resting on her forearms. The way her dark hair partially covered her face. Her soft little snores.

So this is what it's like waking up to someone, I thought. And for once, I didn't feel the urge to run away. Instead, I just took in the sight of her sleeping next to me.

I suddenly felt the urge to stare at her, I reached out and gently brushed the hair out of her face. I paused briefly hesitating before ultimately giving into my feelings. I slowly brushed away strands of her hair revealing her peaceful face. I couldn't help but chuckle softly when she let out a cute little whine as she furrowed her expression and relaxed soon after. I carefully caressed her cheek feeling her soft skin beneath my touch.

I reluctantly got up from my bed trying to avoid making any sound to wake her up and I silently strutted towards my bathroom and closed the door. I turned on the shower and let the water warm up before stepping inside.

As the water cascaded over me, I let my mind wander, thinking about what Lisa had said. It did give me some reassurance that she thought highly of me and I was glad that she trusted and had faith in me just as much as it scared me.
