Ahad:
I slowly unlocked the front door and tip-toed inside, looking around to see if Safira was anywhere around in the living area.
I slowly went towards the bedroom and peeked inside it. I frowned when I didn't see Safira there.
I immediately went downstairs and checked the library and office, but she was nowhere to be seen.
Panic and fear surged through me in equal measure as I sprinted to the kitchen, my last hope. I couldn't fathom what I'd do if she wasn't there.
Scanning the kitchen, I suddenly spotted fingers peeking out from behind the counter.
Rushing over, my heart nearly stopped when I found Safira on the floor, surrounded by shards of glass.
"Safira!" I shouted, dropping to my knees. I tapped her cheeks frantically, pleading for her to open her eyes.
Why do her cheeks feel so warm today?
I touched her forehead, it was burning hot.
She has a fever!
I immediately picked her up and walked towards the stairs and into the bedroom. I laid her down on the bed and immediately took out my phone to call a doctor.
I felt like I couldn't breath looking at her Pale face.
What if something happens to her? What if I....lose her?
What if history repeats itself?I shook my head and held her hand and hugged it close to my chest.
Everything will be alright, nothing will happen, she's-My thoughts were interrupted by a knock on the door. I went over and opened it to find the doctor I had called. Quickly, I invited him in to examine Safira. After a brief examination, he turned to me and reassured me that there was nothing serious; she had merely fainted from weakness and not eating properly.
I thanked him and walked him out the door and went to the kitchen to make some pasta for my wife.
...
I opened the door of the bedroom and walked inside to see Safira trying to fetch a glass of water.
I quickly walked towards her and poured some water from the jug and handed it to her.
She gave me a small smile before she gulped down the glass in three breaths.
I pushed her hair strands out of her eye and tucked them behind her ear.
"how do you feel now?"
"I..I don't feel good, I feel like I'll faint again." She said, resting her head on the headrest of the bed.
I pulled her to me and wrapped my arms around her. She sighed and leaned against me.
"I have a surprise for you" I said, kissing her head.
"I also brought tulips and strawberries for you" She lifted her head up and gave me a smile.
"Let's go downstairs, yeah?" She shook her head, and curled herself in my lap.
"I don't wanna walk"
"Who said you'll walk? I'll pick you up" I said, and stood up with her in my arms.
She gave me a bright smile and circled her arms around my neck.
I smiled at her and walked downstairs and towards the dining hall before I fed her the pasta I made for her.
"Mm, where did you get it from? It's so good" she said, as she chewed on her pasta.
"I made it" I said and tried to hide my smile.
