JULES POV
Summer break has ruined my sleep schedule.
I usually wake up at nine or ten but now I've been waking up around noon or close to one. The only reason I'm awake right now at eight o'clock is because Lukas is calling me.
"What do you want?" I mumble, half awake. I roll onto my side and sweep my hair out of my face.
"Good morning princess," he jokes on the other line. He can't see me but I hope he can feel how big the eye roll I gave him was.
"Shut the fuck up," I mutter as I gain enough energy to wake over and open my blinds. "What do you want?"
"Do you want to go and do something?" he questions as I plop back down on my bed.
"Right now?" I answer. Don't get me wrong, I want to hangout with him but did he seriously have to wake me up at eight.
"If we leave right now, we'll get there around noon," he answers as he rustles with a bag in the background.
"Get to where?" I question, eager to know what he's planning.
"The beach," he replies through a smile.
"But the beach is four hours away? Why would you drive me that far?" I question all at once. Of course I want to go to the beach but a road trip with just us seems random.
"Because I want to," he states. "Are you coming or not?"
"I'll be over in fifteen minutes," I let up before hanging up the call.
I drag myself out of bed and head towards my closet. I grab my favorite red floral bikini and quickly throw it on. This is one of my favorites because it gives me the best tan lines. All the other bikinis I have give me weird and random ones. I grab some denim shorts and a white tank top and throw it on as a coverup. I swipe the ponytail holder off on my wrist and throw my hair up into an easy style. I slide my white sandals on and then grab my small tote bag.
I begin to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, towels, water, and other beach essentials into the small bag. I sling the bag over my shoulder and begin the short walk over to Lukas' house.
When I get there, Lukas is already filling up his car with a bag or two of his own. One thing I love about spending time with Lukas is his white Jeep. It's the perfect summer car and it's so fun to cruise downtown with the doors off.
"Took you long enough," he greets as he slides my bag off of my shoulder and places it in the backseat.
"I only took ten minutes instead of fifteen so I don't want to hear it," I bite back as I slide into the passenger seat of his Jeep.
"I only took five," he quickly replies.
"Want a reward?" I joke as I glare over at him.
"Is the reward a kiss? If so then yes I want a reward," he shoots back at me with a smirk. My eyes lock onto his but I quickly look away as my cheeks begin to redden. Dickhead.
He lets out a low chuckle and turns the radio up, blasting Everybody Talks by Neon Trees. I laugh at his song choice but eventually end up grooving to it by the first chorus.
I roll down my window and begin to take in the next four hours.

More than halfway down the line, Lukas noticed that we needed to stop for gas pretty soon or we're not making it anywhere but a tow companys garage.
We turn into a local gas station and pull into the closet pump. He hands me a twenty and tells me to buy something for both of us.
I hate using other people's money, I always feel so guilty.
