Chapter 8 - Destiny's Dream

“You must hurry!”

“But what about—

“Time is precious, my friend. It is your only hope to spend few more years to be with her.”

What is wrong with me?

Why am I hearing voices?

I tried to open my eyes but all I see is darkness. Everywhere I tried to move my head from different direction, it was all the same. Total darkness.

“But you helping me would ruin your reputation. It could destroy you!” a desperate and raspy voice said.

“It would destroy us both if you don’t leave now!” a soft and controlled voice replied.

There goes again those voices.

Who are they? Perhaps, they could help me. Although, as I wanted to shout to the voices for help, no sound would come out from my mouth. Why couldn’t I speak? What is wrong with me? Where the hell am I? As I continued to ask these questions to myself, although it was useless, the voices keep on arguing, so I just continued eavesdropping whatever they were saying. I know its wrong to listen to other people’s conversation, but what can I do?

“Why are you helping me?”

Why does that voice sounds familiar?

“As what humans would put it in a saying, ‘People do crazy things for the persons they love’”

Humans? How come they are talking about humans?

Wait.

These are human voices right? I mean, they should be when they are talking. Only humans talk, right?

“You love her, don’t you?” The familiar voice said again.

There was absolute silence.

“We both love her,” the other voice finally replied. “But you love her more that you would even consider betraying yourself to the Dark Cons.”

What?!

The Dark Cons?

Maybe listening to this conversation wasn’t a good idea after all. Maybe I should—

“But you also love her!”

“Yes, I do. But—

“You even considered stealing the precious thing that keeps the harmony and balance between heaven and earth!”

Wait a minute.

What was that thing that Sky told me before? Something to do about balance and harmony between heaven and earth?

“Like I said, you love her more than everything that you would give up all.”

Then I heard a siren screeching from evrywhere.

“You must leave immediately! The holy guards must have notice the Maiden’s Lullaby Box is missing!”

The Maiden’s Lullaby Box!

That’s what they are talking about and what Sky told me. Maybe listening to this conversation wasn’t a bad idea after all. How is it possible that I’m hearing about this? Well, no matter as long as this conversation I just heard might give me a clue to helping out Sky’s mission.

“Promise me one thing, my friend. . .”

I couldn’t hear anymore what they were saying, when there was a flashing bright light coming towards my direction. I didn’t know where it came from, but I was blinded from the light, perhaps my eyes were exposed too much of the darkness that it had to adjust from the bright light.
