Chapter X - A Piece of Mystery

“Would you like some more milk biscuits, Miss Riverdale?”

I took a piece from the plater the butler gave to me. “Thank you, Martins,” I said while giving him a smile. “You can drop the formalities and  call me Destiny.”

Seriously, the milk biscuits were to die for, and if you tried one piece, you’ll  be wanting to have more and more. It was soft and filled with vanilla milk cream, powdered with cinnamon from the outside. The one I took just now was already my sixth piece.

Well, you may think that a girl like me, eating too much food, would get fat. Unfortunately, I have a fast metabolism, which I’m very thankful of, so I can eat as many food as I want.

“Give my compliments to the patissiere for making this delicious milk biscuits, will you Martins?” I said while munching.

“Certainly,” Martins said, before turning to his employer. “How about you sir, would like anything else?”

“I think you need to give him another pack of ice,” I said innocently, while showing my rarest angelic smile to Martins’ employer. “After all, he is such a klutz for slipping down on the floor hitting his face first, isn’t that right Damon?”

Damon threw me a glare before he winced when he asked Martins to get him another pack of ice. “You know damn well I didn’t slipped on the floor,” he said when Martins left.

True.

I actually beat him black and blue and mind you, I didn’t hold back even if I was a girl. It was his fault anyways for not telling me that he own the bloody castle that I assumed we were invading. When his staff notice his ‘unusual looks’ they were surprised, and immediately asked what happened to him.

I’m even surprised that he just told them that he clumsily slipped on the floor and hit his face first thus, concluding his ‘unusual looks’. Although, there was a tiny twitch in my mind that told me that I think I have gone too far in beating up Damon. Although, he deserves what he got still dominated in my mind.

“That’s what you said to your staff,” I said shrugging, then sipping a cup of hot lemon rose tea. The aroma of the tea was pure heaven, I’ll admit that. Milk biscuits paired with this hot lemon rose tea was a perfect combination. “I’m only repeating what you said.”

Damon just rolled his eyes. “I hope what you did to me bothers your conscience.”

I put my cup a distance away from my mouth, while giving a thought of what he said. “Nope. My conscience says I’m not guilty for what I did, and even told me you deserve it,” I sarcastically said while sipping back again my tea.

“Are you sure you’re a girl?” he asked jokingly. “You sure punch like a man.”

“Damon, you wouln’t want to tell your staff that you broke your arm and leg because you clumsily fell on the floor again, would you?” I asked calmly while smiling at him.

I think he got my drift when he grimaced thinking, perhaps, he would received another beat up coming from me. “Well, that’s an interesting trait you have Destiny. Your man-punch is one of a kind, rare even for a girl like you,” he laughed nervously.
