Littles: Jongseob age 9 months, Shota (Soul) age 1, Jiung age 2, and Intak age 3,
Caregiver(s): Keeho and Taeyang (Theo)
Trigger warnings: pacifiers and cribsKeeho and Jongseob were spending the first hour of their morning practicing identifying different colors and vocalizing simple words such as "Mama" and "baby". It's truly heartwarming to witness their steady progress in learning and developing their communication skills.
"Say baaayyy-beee!" Keeho exclaimed with excitement as a grin spread across his face. Jongseob gazed at the older with astonishment, his eyes widening in response to Keeho's gestures.
"Maaah!" Jongseob babbled as he reached out and touched the older boy's face. His curious eyes examined the brown strands of hair, and he couldn't resist giving them a little tug. Startled, Keeho's head jolted back and accidentally hit the hard arm of the couch.
Jongseob couldn't help but giggle as the man yelled "OUCH!" and started flailing his small hands around in excitement.
Keeho winced as he carefully lifted his head. He looked at the time and said, "It's almost 1. Let's go wake up your brother and get you to sleep."
As the baby let out a playful "Mah!" Keeho couldn't help but chuckle in response.
Jongseob rose to his feet and cautiously took tiny, unsteady steps, holding hands with his caregiver. Together, they finally arrived at the shared nursery of Shota and Jongseob.
Jongseob gazed at the wriggling Shota in his crib, the second youngest of the group. "Appa?" the boy murmured. Suddenly, Shota's eyes fluttered open, revealing his caregiver and little brother both peering at him.
Shota gently sat up and extended his arms towards the second eldest. Keeho carefully placed Jongseob in the crib and lifted the second youngest into his arms. "Appa's right here," he whispered reassuringly. "I'm not going anywhere," Keeho whispered into the younger's ear.
Keeho settled into the plush armchair in the dimly lit corner of the room, cradling the baby in his arms. As he gently swayed from side to side, Jongseob stretched out in the crib, making himself cozy in anticipation of a lengthy wait for Keeho's return.
Jongseob felt a sense of gratitude towards Shota for having left his pacifier in the crib. As he picked up the rubber pacifier and put it in his mouth, he immediately felt a sense of relaxation washing over him.
Shota had managed to regain his composure and was currently sipping on a refreshing yogurt drink from a secret mini fridge that Keeho had tucked away.
Keeho gently placed the boy on the floor and positioned him in front of the television, where an unusual movie was playing. The film seemed to be about aliens who transformed into humans and gained superpowers by consuming daisies, at least from what Keeho could gather. Shota appeared to be thoroughly engrossed in the movie, finding it highly enjoyable.
Keeho took a deep breath and walked over to the crib to gently check on Jongseob. He found that the younger one was peacefully asleep. Keeho gently wrapped him in a cozy blanket and then returned to Shota.
"Hey buddy, I'm going to go wake up your brothers, alright?" Shota nodded absentmindedly, his gaze still fixed on the television screen.
Keeho tiptoed over to the second nursery, which was shared by Intak and Jiung. He was aware that Theo was awake, so he knew he'd have to handle the task on his own.
As he turned the doorknob and pushed the door open, he couldn't help but feel a surge of exasperation. There they were, Jiung and Intak sprawled out on the floor.
Keeho quietly entered the room and gently shut the door, careful not to make any noise that might startle Jiung awake. He carefully scooped up the sleeping baby and settled into a comfortable chair. Wanting to not scare Jiung, Keeho began softly rubbing the baby's back and intermittently patting to soothe him.
The little boy mumbled, "Appa..." He replied, "I'm here, prince. I just needed to wake you up so we could get some food in your tummy."
Jiung nestled even closer to his caregiver, finding comfort in the warmth and gentle presence, while contentedly sucking on his pacifier. The caregiver reassured, "Your brother will wake up on his own time."
Little Jiung gazed at Keeho with wide, beautiful eyes, clearly not comprehending his words.
Keeho chuckled as he grabbed an applesauce cup for Jiung to enjoy. The little one curiously prodded at the foil covering the food.
"Ah!" he exclaimed, incoherently requesting Keeho to give him something to eat, causing his pacifier to fall out of his mouth.
Keeho gently chuckled as he removed the covering from the food and started to feed Jiung. Jiung eagerly devoured the entire cup of mashed fruit in less than two minutes.
"You did always love applesauce..." Keeho muttered.
Jiung tugged on the older boy's shirt, pointing eagerly at the TV with his free hand.
"I see the TV buddy, want to watch a show?" Keeho asked as he switched on an educational program.Jiung nodded in agreement and then squirmed out of the caregiver's embrace to settle onto his bed.
Keeho carefully lifted Intak and tucked him into his cozy bed, ensuring he was comfortable and secure.
Keeho thought to himself, "Why isn't Tae awake yet?!"
Just as Keeho was about to exit the second nursery, he encountered a visibly stressed Taeyang cradling a drowsy and very whiny Jongseob. Walking apprehensively behind them was a frightened Shota in search of Keeho.
As Shota's gaze locked onto Keeho, the young boy dashed toward the older one, clinging to him as if releasing his hold would be illegal.
Shota clung to the older man's sweater, tears streaming down his face as he cried, "Appa, movie is scary!"
Keeho's lips curled into a frown, rubbing the little one's back. "Sweetheart, nothing will hurt you, I won't let anything hurt you." He soothed the younger.
Keeho tenderly lifted the younger into his arms and carried him over to Taeyang. "Mommy!" Shota called out, reaching out for his other caregiver.
Taeyang let out a soft chuckle as he leaned in and gently kissed Shota's cheek before taking him from Keeho.
Keeho suddenly heard a soft, barely audible whimper coming from behind him.
Keeho hummed in confusion and turned around, revealing a sleepy Intak rubbing his eyes while sucking on his beloved pacifier.
"Good morning sweetheart, did you not sleep well?"
"Nuh uh I was on da fwoor."
"Right."
Intak waddled down the stairs and sat on the couch along with Keeho.
Little Jongseob and Shota were playing on the floor and Jiung was...asleep...
Intak climbed onto Keeho's lap and sucked his pacifier. "Prince don't go back to sleep, you just woke up." Keeho complained jokingly.
"I notttt." Intak pouted whilst fighting to keep his eyes open.
Today was going to be a long day.
Filled with four sleepy babies.
