*Sakura's pov*

Days passed and Mirko started letting me take the lead on most of our fights and rescue's. I really appreciated her trust in me. "Let's grab dinner. I have something important to talk to you about." She said before leading the way to her company. We grabbed some food from the cafeteria and went into her office to eat privately.

"Is it really that serious?" I asked.

"More than you know." She huffed. "Tomorrow's gonna be a little different. Remember those red cylinders inside that gun?"

"Yea."

"There's been an investigation about where they're coming from and I can't tell you much about it, but I can say that tomorrow we'll be patrolling a much larger area than what we're used to. It'll be great and challenging! But we're only doing so because a lot of heroes and their work-study students will be busy. They've been involved in the investigation, so they'll be dealing with that, while we stay behind to protect the citizens."

"Oh, I understand... Now I see why some of my classmates have been acting strange. They're involved in the investigation."

"Maybe, but you can't tell anyone about our conversation. It's confidential."

"Yes, ma'am. I won't say a word to anyone."

The next day, I woke up early and got ready for my day with Mirko. I would be missing an entire day of school, since it was all hands on deck. I went to eat breakfast and I watched Midoriya blankly stare at his fish. He was definitely involved in the mission. "Good luck." I smiled before hugging him from behind and snapping him out of his trance.

"W-What? Sakura?" He nervously stammered and I hugged him tighter.

"I'm saying, good luck. Let's all kick some ass today." I pulled away and walked away as he stared at me curiously. I sent him a reassuring smile and grabbed my breakfast before sitting with Ochaco and Tsu. They were also unusually quiet. After breakfast, we were getting ready to leave and walked to the main entrance with a few other work-study students. I hoped that no one would get hurt or lose their quirk. I really hoped they could take those cylinders off of the market, so I wouldn't have to worry about losing my quirk while I fought villains.

"Frostfire!" Mirko yelled. "I'll handle the villain while you take care of the car pileup."

"Got it!" We quickly split up and I started directing the civilians to run away, while I checked the closest cars to the villain, for injured people. "Get out of your cars and run five blocks down the street! Are there any injured?!"

"Help! My wife is stuck!" I ran to a car and saw a woman with blood running down her face. "Her seatbelt is stuck." I quickly cut it and helped her out of the car before handing her to him.

"Get to a safe area and press a cloth against her head. Just wait for the paramedics to come." While I continued the evacuation, I began hearing a baby crying. I quickly looked around and noticed a car caught on fire with a baby in the back seat. I gasped as I rushed to put the fire out and pulled the baby from its seat. "I'm so sorry." I spoke as I rocked her and looked around for a possible parent, but I saw no one... Everyone else had gone to a safe area, secured by police officers. Mirko had delivered the final blow on the villain and apprehended them as the cops rushed in to arrest them.

I walked over to the safe zone with the baby in my arms and approached a female police officer. I began hearing the civilians cheer for me and Mirko, but I looked through the crowd for a face of worry, but there was nothing. "Frostfire." Said the officer.

"Someone left their baby in the car. Can I leave her with you?"

"Of course. I'll find her parents."

I handed her over and walked away. I was angry, beyond angry as my blood began to boil. How could anyone be so careless? With a baby of only a few months old. Mirko and I continued patrolling elsewhere and stopped in an alley, where a man was mugging an old couple. Without a second to even talk to him, I froze him in place and disarmed him. I tackled him to the ground before cuffing his hands behind his back and returning the couple's belongings with a smile. "What an incredible young lady." The husband smiled.

"Darling, what is your name?" Asked the wife.

"I'm Frostfire." I smiled. After he was picked up by police, we continued on like that. Mirko let me handle most of the criminals, unless there were people to be rescued. The sun was finally starting to set, and I was becoming exhausted. We took a dinner break and she took me to a restaurant, where I ordered the juiciest burger they had.

"Hey, you did great today." Mirko spoke, making me flash her a soft smile.

"I know." I responded. "I have a great teacher."

"If you know then why do you look like that? You look glum, as if you messed up."

"... I saved a baby today and their parents were nowhere in sight. It's clear that the baby isn't loved enough to be saved by their own parents. How do people do that?"

"How do people do what?"

"Not love their kids. Aren't they an extension of their parents? Maybe these parents don't love themselves, because then how could they love an extension of them?"

"... Does this have to do with Endeavor?"

"No. Not at all." I scoffed. "Just a thought."

"Are there any other thoughts?"

"You're the coolest woman I've ever met, Mirko. You always fight so enthusiastically and it's hard to believe that anything can bother you enough for you to lose focus... Not even heartbreak."

"Don't tell me... You're crying about a guy?"

"I'm not crying!" I whined.

"Frostfire, you're pretty freakin' tough too. Don't let some stupid boy hurt your feelings. In fact, you've been so cool since your first day of your internship. There's this fire about you and the way you talk to villains is scary. It's like you have two different personalities. With civilians, you're so bright and kind. With villains, you're so dark and ruthless. It screams 'I'm not to be fucked with' and it really reminds me of myself. Don't let some dumb boy fuck with you." I smiled brighter and nodded.

After our shift was done, I walked back to UA and struggled to walk up the steps of the dorm. Once I entered, I looked around to see that almost everyone was sitting by the Tv. "Sakura!" Yelled Shoto as he ran up to me with a few others. "Were you there? Are you okay?"

"By there, do you mean on that mission with the other work-study students?" He nodded and I shook my head. "No. Mirko and I helped patrol some of their usual spots. If you don't mind, it's been a really long day." I rushed into a shower and stood there for a long time before finally washing up. When I got out, I changed and my knees wiggled in weakness as I walked out of the bathroom. I definitely over-exerted myself. "Fuck." I hissed while holding onto the wall, but I was suddenly picked up and was in someone's arms. "Katsuki."

"Let me bring you to your room. You can barely walk." He said and I huffed before resting my arm on his shoulder. My stomach fluttered, but my heart ached.

"You're really not making this breakup any easier. Why are you allowed to move on, and I'm not?"

"You are."

"Then, why do you keep meddling?" He ignored me and got on the elevator before pressing my floor number. I stared at his face, and could feel the pain in my chest deepen. I reached for his cheek, making him look at me. "You broke my heart." I softly spoke. "If you keep meddling, I won't be able to turn my pain into hate."

"I don't want you to hate me."

"And I didn't want you to hurt me, but you did."

"I'm sorry." The elevator stopped on my floor and he carried me to my door before putting me down.

"If you won't let me hate you, then you'll leave me no choice. I'll have to become someone you hate."

"I could never hate you."

"Wanna bet?"
