Chapter 16: Scout and Destroy

Early in the morning as the camp came to life, Bianca, Trifa and Rocky made their way towards the camps center to meet up with Ken and Sidious.

Currently the only one that was up and ready was Bianca since not only had she gotten a full night's rest but also slept even more before that.

Trifa was holding a cup of coffee somewhat awake while having a slouched back as she walked alongside Rocky.
Who was still struggling to open his eyes while using his tail to hold himself up.

Back at the center of the camp Ken was going over the logistics with Sidious about how the manpower they would have and how many mouths they'd have to feed.

"Though we have a foothold here already we can only have so many trainees until they're all cramped up with the training equipment.

Sidious nodded and replied.
"Hence the scouting mission today. Map out the rest of the island while eliminating any and all Grimm that cross our path. And for building materials don't worry, I've already got that covered."

Ken in turn nodded once in approval. Unlike Cinder who delegated orders to Adam, Sidious was doing the work himself.
Personally seeing that it would not just only get done but having the opportunity to earn trust or at the very least respect from the other members of the Fang.

Looking over Sidious's shoulder he saw the trio making their way into the tent.

"Good morning. Hope you all rested well." Ken greeted with Sidious only nodding.

"Morning!" Bianca greeted them both which Rocky nodded upwards once before letting himself fall on a nearby chair while Trifa gave a unamused glare at Sidious.

Sidious from under his gas mask rolled his eyes and thought.
'It's barely four'o clock and you're already hating?'

"Now that we're all here I'll have Sidious explain what your primary objectives are." Ken said before Sidious stood in front of the group.

"Today I hope you enjoyed sleeping on a bed because for the next few days we'll be in charge of mapping and eliminating any Grimm we come across on the island. I have already prepared our travel supplies that should last us several days before needing to head back." Sidious explained before Rocky rubbed his eyes and asked.

"So it's like scout and destroy mission?"

"Yes."

"And we'll be gone for how long?" Rocky questioned hoping that it wouldn't be anymore than a week.

"Atleast a week or two before heading back to resupply and helping with the camp's expansion." Sidious further explained which Rocky groaned in response as he slipped further into his chair.

"Oh come on Rocky, think about it. Vibora won't be yelling our eardrums out, we get to go out exploring, and we get to smash some Grimm skulls!" Bianca chimed in as she listed why it wasn't going to be as bad as Rocky thought it was going to be.

"Right Trifa?"

She turned to Trifa who had her arms crossed before lifting her hand up to her mouth and taking a sip of her coffee.
But after a long awkward sip Trifa then like a tired single parent of two boys replied.

"Yeah...great."

*Takes another long sip...

"...Uh-huh..." Rocky said at Bianca who's rabbit ears dropped at Trifa's attitude. Breaking the silence Ken then reminded them of their objectives.

"I guess you should all be on your way now while you still have daylight to burn."

To which the group of new four grabbed their travel equipment that had their names. After having a quick breakfast the group then walked out of the camp's gates and had officially begun their journey to explore the island by traveling on what remained of a ruined path.
