Political/Social Heirarchy:- There is no "Royal Heirarchy" or "Pack Order" in terms of politics. Instead, The number of tails a Kitsune has dictates how respected they are among others of their kind. Four or more tails = more respect, less than four tails = little to no respect.
- Zenko Kitsunes are typically more respected than Yako Kitsunes.
~~~
Religion:
- Kitsunes do not have a specific deity that they pray to; though some may choose to pay homage to a deity if they desire; typically gravitating towards deities of deception, trickery, knowledge, fire, love, or fertility.
~~~
Traditions:
- Kitsunes have Japanese-origin names that are appropriate for their sex.
- Once a Kitsune reaches maturity, they are to choose a class before the next full moon. Kitsunes are either Sorcerers, Wizards, Monks, or Warlocks; with Druids and Bards being less common. A rare few Kitsunes are Rogues.
- Kitsunes are taught reading and writing from a young age; followed by hunting, gathering, and alchemy. The kits of wealthier Kitsune families are also taught calligraphy.
~~~
Social norms:
- Kitsunes are typically solitary and prefer living in small towns or villages or by themselves all together.
- Since they are Fey, Kitsunes get along well with the other Canid races, other fey and some demon creatures such as Fauns, Tieflings, and maybe even Gnolls. Some may even sympathize with Werewolves. Zenko Kitsunes get along well with beings that are Celestial in origin.
- Kitsunes are Monogamous and mate for life. If a Kitsune's mate dies, the remaining Kitsune may take another mate after grieving if they are young enough; though most refuse to take another mate after the death of their chosen mate. Polygamy among Kitsunes is allowed, but frowned upon. To have a Kitsune as a partner or friend is to have a partner or friend for life.
- Kitsunes typically don't form bonds of any kind with any non-Kitsune/non-Canid humanoid due to the Kitsune's natural desire to harvest and consume the livers of other sentient humanoids. Kitsunes prefer the livers on Non-Beast Races (and Dragonborn) over the livers of Beast Races (with the exception of the Dragonborn due to their innate elemental magic).
- Kitsunes are widely distrustful of Humans and Drow; as they have hunted Kitsunes for their tails and fur in ages past for use in clothing and magic.
- Female Kitsune pups take the last name of their mother and male kitsune pups take the last name of their father.
- Female Kitsunes are more common than male Kitsunes. Because of this, Kitsune females often mate outside of their race; usually with a Dragonborn or Elf. Any offspring produced between the pair will be full Kitsunes or at the very least have some rather Kitsune-like tendencies; such as an obsession with aquiring livers or physical differences such as fox-like ears, claws, and a fox-like tail. These offspring also possess Dark Vision of 60ft.
- Kitsunes are a very attractive race of people; no matter the form that they take on; having been compared by many to Sirens or to Incubi/Succubi.
