Preferred terrain: Deserts or/and plains/savannahs
---
Lives: Live in nomadic, hunter-gatherer or merchant tribes called "Prides" that consist of two, sometimes three different individual pairs and their shared offspring; though some Leonin have opted to live in towns and small cities due to the constant, varied, and reliable source of materials and goods. Leonin royalty in these towns and cities often introduce themselves with some variation of "Full name, of Pride Last Name of father." when in the company of other royalty. Very social individuals who thrive off of companionship.
---
Alignment: Good or sometimes Neutral-based alignments; Evil-based alignments are rare
---
Political system: Monarchy; with Kings
---
Views towards other races: Tend to get along with everyone; except the Gnolls and the more canid and avian races. Werewolves and other were-creatures are viewed negatively and as an 'abomination'; with the only allies they have being Leonin Druids. They get along best with other beast races, aside from the aforementioned Gnoll and canine and avian beast races.
---
Relationship practices/views: Pre-arranged marriages are practiced, but more common amongst royalty. Both monogamy and polygamy are accepted; with polygamy being more common amongst Leonin royalty with the implantation of harems along with a Queen. For a female (or rarely male) Leonin to be selected as part of a harem is considered a great achievement and honor. Only the offspring between the King and Queen are considered heirs; offspring between the King and a concubine are still treated as royalty, but are not considered true heirs.
Note: Male concubines are often forcefully (or sometimes even willingly) ceremoniously castrated to prevent him from mating/producing offspring with the females in the harem or the Queen. Impregnating the females is solely the King's right. Male (or even sometimes female) concubines can also be used by the Queen for "services" as well.
Polygamy is also practiced by the lower classes (but to a lesser extent) so that more hands can be used to earn money for the family.
Leonin Individuals are overall free to mate with and produce/adopt offspring with whomever; as long as they are a member of a feline race. All sexualities are openly practiced and accepted.
---
Religion: Leonin paladins, clerics, and some warlocks tend to gravitate towards deities of: light, life, the sun, nature, strength, knowledge, or fertility. They are quietly devout to their chosen deity and are seldomly extreme about it. Any displays of extreme religious views by another individual while in the prescence of a Leonin tends to make the Leonin visibly uneasy.
---
Common values: Strength, tenacity, loyalty, family/community, courage, patience, knowledge, fearlessness
---
Common classes: Fighter, Barbarian, Monk, Rogue, Druid, or Ranger. Royalty are often Wizards, Warlocks, Clerics, or Paladins.
---
Common occupations: Merchant/tradesman, gladiator, city guard, craftsman (blacksmith, leather worker, wood carver, etc.), hunter-gatherer, botanist, assassin, bounty hunter, priest, shaman, thief, or paid adventurer/guild member.
---
Magical ability: Leonin are more physical fighters and tend to lack the innate magic that elves, fae, Dragonborn, Tieflings, and other magical races possess; though it is rare that a Leonin is born with natural magic. Leonin tend to learn and perform fire and earth-based elemental spells reletively quickly while a rare few excel at water-based elemental spells instead.

Leonin (and other feline)-specific drugs::
Catnip: A common herb that produces euphoric effects and mild visuals similar to a light mushroom trip upon smelling, inhaling via smoke, or eating. Only affects feline races and actual cats or cat-like creatures. Effects last thirty minutes to an hour; a favorite among the Tabaxi and Felis races. Can be addictive to those with addictive personalities. Note: Artificial Catnip does exist and is quite dangerous to consume.
Feli-Bane: A rare, viney plant with a thick, wooden stalk that produces effects similar to a very strong acid trip upon inhalation via smoke/powder or eating. Leaves the user incapacitated for the duration of the plant's effects (up to eight hours) and the effects take hold almost immediately. Very potent with high potential for addiction. Often causes nausea, vomiting, disorientation, irritibility, fatigue, and a bad headache on the come-down. Lethal to actual feline creatures upon eating. Considered a tranquilizer and a hard drug that is called "Nip" among the feline races (not to be confused for a slang term of Catnip). Does not affect non-feline races.
Cattisflora: An uncommon black flower with gold or yellow spotting that is often dried and turned into a powder that produces euphoria and intense visuals upon inhalation. Often used by Paladins, Warlocks, and Clerics for religious purposes. May also affect those who worship any feline-aligned deity; no matter their race. Not addictive.
Lion's Mane: A common fungus often used in some cooking recipes. Harmless to the other races, but may cause a Leonin to have mild visuals and a euphoric feeling if enough is eaten. This mild psychedelic effect isn't often known by the other races. Effects are brief; lasting up to an hour or two, depending on the quantity eaten. Not addictive.
Cat's Paw Cactus: A rare, slow-growing cactus with long spines and bright blue flowers who's flesh or "water" causes effects similar to a Peyote trip that lasts anywhere from 4-8 hours. Causes nausea, vomiting, and a bad headache on the come-down. The long, thin spines are collected and often used in acupuncture or tattooing (the cactus re-grows any taken spines). Considered an endangered species. Not addictive and affects all humanoid races; except the Yuan-Ti.
Cat Tails: A type of common, fast-growing, fiberous reed that grows near fresh water that produces an almost addictingly sweet, honeysuckle-like flavor when chewed. Causes relaxation and euphoria when chewed. Often used to numb pain for up to an hour or to aid in sleep for members of any humanoid race. The chewed plant fibers are spat out once all of the sap has been extracted. Can be addictive; those with a sweet tooth are often the most suseptible to addiction.
Ambrosia: Originating from the forests and jungles of the feywilds but brought to the material plane, ambrosia is a deep red or pale pink flower that vaguely resembles female mammalian genitalia that smells like chocolate. Used as an aphrodisiac that affects all mammalian humanoid races and gives an intense euphoric feeling and stamina increase. Commonly served as a tea, powder, or pill in brothels, nightclubs, and the Lust Ring of Hell. Can be addictive; especially to those who crave sex.
Moon Sugar and Red Moon Sugar: Considered a divine gift from Ara by some. Moon sugar and its' more rare red variant is a sweet, usually white powder that is often used by Kajiit in small amounts for cooking. In larger amounts however, it produces euphoria, visuals, slurred speech, and a rapid heart rate. Kajiit appear to be mostly immune to the effects of moon sugar and its' variant; as they eat some form of it daily. Humans and elves are the most susceptible to its effects and are warned against eating any food made with this ingredient. Can be addictive to any non-feline race. Red moon sugar is more addictive than its' white, more common variant.
Skooma: Brewed from refined moon sugar and the roots, berries, or flowers of the nightshade plant. Skooma is a highly addictive, crystalline narcotic that is smoked through a specialized water pipe that sends its' users through bouts of intense euphoria and visuals followed by debilitating lethargy in a cycle that can last up to three hours; six for those who consume double-distilled skooma and up to nine for those who consume red skooma. If prepared incorrectly, skooma can leave its' users with voice loss, minor aggressive fits, and possibly death. Like with moon sugar, Kajiit appear to be resistant to its' effects; with humans, elves, and lizardfolk being the most susceptible.
