When the sun loves the moon
Their love remainsYou tapped your foot impatiently as you stood out the landing deck. The sun was a bit harsher then most mornings and you felt yourself sweat underneath your many layers of clothing.
"He said he would have been here by now..." you grumbled softly to yourself, squinting towards the sky in hopes of spotting the familiar silhouette of his Jedi starfighter. The mission to rescue a group of diplomats had turned out to be more challenging than expected, especially with Ahsoka by his side.
Your thoughts are distributed by the distinctive sound of a Jedi starfighter echoing through the hangar, drawing your attention. Relief flooded through you as Anakin expertly landed the ship, with Ahsoka at his side. They disembarked together, their presence commanding as they approached you on the landing deck.
"Master (L/N)," Anakin greeted you warmly, his eyes briefly meeting yours with a mix of relief and affection. "I'm sorry for the delay."
You nodded, maintaining your composure. "Welcome back, Anakin," you replied evenly, noting the young Togruta standing beside him.
Anakin glanced at Ahsoka with a proud smile, then turned back to you. "This is Ahsoka Tano," he introduced, gesturing towards his Padawan. "Ahsoka, this is..." Anakin paused, "...(Y/N) (L/N), Master Jedi (L/N)"
Ahsoka nodded politely, her bright eyes curious as she studied you. "It's nice to meet you," she said warmly, unaware of the complex emotions swirling beneath the surface.
You returned her greeting with a gracious smile, masking any hint of recognition, though you felt a little tug at your heart as you took in her face "Likewise, Ahsoka," you replied, your voice steady despite the nostalgia forming in your chest. To see her do young and full of energy, it contracted the Ahsoka you left behind in your timeline.
Ahsoka shifted slightly, sensing the unspoken tension between you and Anakin. "Master Anakin always speaks highly of you," she remarked with a small smile, trying to break the palpable atmosphere. "Thank you, Ahsoka," you replied graciously, your voice carrying a hint of humility. "It's an honor to meet you, especially considering Master Anakin's commendations of your skills and character."
Ahsoka's eyes lit up at your words, clearly touched by your sincerity. "He's a remarkable teacher," you agreed, choosing your words carefully. "You must learn a great deal from him."
Ahsoka nodded eagerly," I hope to learn great things from my master"As the three of you stood on the landing deck, a sense of camaraderie formed in the shared silence. Anakin's hand found yours subtly, a comforting touch that spoke volumes in its simplicity. Despite the secrecy of your marriage and the temporal anomaly that brought you here, moments like these affirmed the strength of your bond.
Ahsoka shifted slightly, sensing the unspoken connection but respecting the boundary of Jedi professionalism. "Well, I'll leave you two," she said respectfully, taking a step back to give you and Anakin a moment of privacy. You knew Ahsoka well enough to know that she had her ideas already, despite your first meeting.
