Alpha Aiden. The name sent chills down my spine and my heart thrummed loudly out of fear.

Alpha Aiden was a monster even among monsters. A threat to the monsters. His name preceded him. Feared amongst all the packs, the biggest prayer was to never let him set his sights on your pack. He didn't care about the land because he had the biggest land in existence.

He only loved to destroy. If he visits your pack, his goal is to destroy everything in sight and bring the pack down to ashes. My heart beat erratically, I was more afraid than I was when Albert attempted to assault me. How did alpha Aiden show up in this pack tonight of all nights?

What did he want from the full moon? I wondered to myself. Our packs were almost on the edge of the region so he barely ever attacked anyone on this side. Why now?

Barely two hours since I arrived here. Regret burned through me. This was a bad idea. Uncle was right. I should never have left our pack to be mated here. Now I would die just like that because there was no escaping from him.

"Where are the guards?" Albert snapped out of his daze, looking around with fearful eyes.

"We have no one here. I sent the little around to hold them off but there is nothing we can do. We have to leave before he gets here. You know what he is like"

"I cannot abandon my pack" Albert growled angrily.

"We have no pack. This is a wasteland now. We are dead once he sets eyes on us" the other man shouted.

"Right. We have to get out of here at once. We can come back and rebuild"

There would be nothing to rebuild by the time Alpha Aiden was done. He was only giving himself faux comfort. He would become an exiled alpha. No pack and no lands.

"And her? What are we going to do with her" The man asked and two of them looked at me. I covered my chest which had been exposed when Albert ripped the front of my dress off, clutching onto the material tightly while Albert decided what he wanted to do with me.

"She's coming with us. I still have plans for her" he grabbed me by my arm and lifted me up.

"Let's go" he pushed me forward and I didn't hesitate to move while he followed behind me.

I'll get away with him because I'll be dead if I'm left behind. Once alpha Aiden set his eyes on me, there was no surviving it but with Albert, I could manage to escape and make my way back to my pack and family. He pushed me through a door at the back and out into a long hallway. We hummed down the hallway and he pushed another door open on the left and we entered a dark room.

"The stairs will lead us downstairs" I could barely see a thing in the dark room even with my heightened vision. I stubbed my foot against the side of the wall and I winced. The smell of blood filled the dark place.

"Be silent" he snapped and I bit my lip instantly.

Albert pushed me roughly from the back and I continued walking.

After what felt like forever, I reached a door. Albert reached over me and pulled at the lock and it opened up in the dark night.

"More" he pursued me again and I fell out, catching myself with my palm. I bit back the curse I wanted to hurt at him and stood up out in the open space, he took the lead and I followed closely, the second man stayed behind me as we made our escape. We arrived at the beginning of the trees and then we heard a shout. Multiple shouts followed after that and a prolonged silence.

"Run" the man from behind yelled and Albert took off, completely forgetting his plan to take me with him. I ran too, hearing the sound of the man trying to keep up behind me but then the sounds behind me increased and I sensed there were multiple men behind me. My sides hurt from the constant running but I couldn't stop. I lost track of Albert ahead of me. I was tackled from behind and I fell down face flat, pressed down by the heavy weight of a wolf snarking at me and sniffing my neck. I tried to push the wolf off me but it was too large.

"Stay" I felt pressure in my mind, like an alpha's command so my body completed. I could have resisted if I fought harder but I just went limp. I was never made alpha. I only have the genes of the alpha trait so I could be compelled under an alpha command.

Once my body was limp, the wolf slipped off me and I was lifted from the floor by two men. I took a good look at the wolf and realization dawned on me. This was the alpha wolf. Alpha Aiden.....his wolf eyes raked over me. I watched the wolf shift and the man towered over me. His green eyes clashed with mine and I felt a jolt of electricity pass through me. My body, mind, and wolf recognized who was standing in front of me.

'Mate' my wolf screamed in my head.

'Mate' the voice says again. I staggered on my feet despite the hold on me. This man was my mate? His eyes moved lower to the mark on my shoulder and his lip curled in disgust.

"Take her away to the rest of them"

I let the man drag me away. My mind was still muddled with a lot of thoughts. How could Alpha Aiden be my mate? We arrived where the others were gathered and I was pushed to the floor.

Alpha Aiden returned with the rest of his men dragging Albert behind. They pushed him to the floor and coincidentally, he landed beside me.

"We have them all. What are we doing?" The closest man to him asked.

"Kill them," Alpha Aiden said closely and I gasped just as sobs started. I looked at Alpha Aiden closely and he was already looking at me, with no emotions in his eyes.

Unbelievable. He was going to kill me even though he knew I was his mate. I dropped my eyes. I couldn't expect any less from a man who was a monster. I kept my eyes down as the men moved. Screams and the sound of skin slicing. I tried not to flinch. I was going to die anyway. It's crazy how my life had turned upside down in only a matter of hours. My head was yanked back and the cool blade pressed against my skin. I closed my eyes and awaited my death.

"Enough" his cold voice chilled into my bones.

"Alpha?" The man holding me questioned.

"We will kill the alpha and take the rest back with us" I met his eyes again.

"We have no use for them. What are we going to use them for?"

"Servants.....whatever"

"We have enough servants," another man said.

"Are you questioning me? I said kill the alpha and send the rest back to the blood moon pack" he commanded again and the man removed the blade from my neck. I heaved a sigh of relief.

"No, please. Spare my life" Albert sobbed like a child as they dragged him away in front of us.

I looked at him, amazed by how a proud alpha had been reduced to nothing. The ego and pride exhibited at my old pack not too long ago had disappeared and all that was left was a weak, defenseless man. Just like most alphas he hid behind the strength of his armies. He was nothing without them. He looked bruised like he had been beaten before he was dragged here.

"Please....spare me" he cried again but nobody listened to him.

A second later, his body was separated from his head, and a thunderbolt of pain crashed through me. Pain like I had never felt before. Starting from my shoulders up to my chest and to my head. A scream got stuck in my throat as I hunched over. The pain was too much, I was going to die. I grabbed the wet field, trying to catch a single breath of air but nothing came in.

My insides were being rearranged, and a part of me was being destroyed in the most brutal manner. I felt like I was going to implode from all I was feeling at the same time. My hands gave out underneath me and I fell face first into the ground but the pain from the fall was nothing compared to what was happening in my body.

"Help....me" I cried out in a weak voice. Life was leaving me. I could feel it all slipping away from me and I let myself go, managing to roll onto my back and I was looking up at the moon as it all came to an end for me.

A beautiful face appeared over me. Through my blurred vision, I saw someone from the heavens and I smiled. I felt their hand over me and the pain disappeared into nothing. If this was how peaceful death was, then I was glad to go. I felt myself being elevated and I closed my eyes, my consciousness of the world disappearing along with every other thing around me.
