HIS HATED MATE

CHAPTER 5

ALPHA AIDEN'S POV

There was silence around me as I walked to the carriage and set her down. I looked at the unconscious body of the girl.

'Not just any girl. Our mate' my wolf corrected.

Yeah....our mate. I had long given up any hope of finding our mate. It's been so many years and so many girls but I had not found my mate. And to think that she would turn up on the day I least expected and worse in the most unexpected manner.

My head was a scattered mess. Bombarder with various emotions all at once that I couldn't filter through them. I didn't know whether to be happy or sad... or even furious. I didn't expect this in the least.

'We can still be happy whether it was unexpected or not. We found our mate' my wolf said in my head, excited at the thought.

When we arrived at the full moon pack tonight, I had no intention of being an active participant in the chase and destruction but something kept pushing me to take part and soon I found myself walking towards the pack house. I kept listening to the small voice that was pushing me to go further and just like that, I was hit with the most enticing scent, blueberries and vanilla. It was driving me crazy even if I couldn't tell at that moment what it was.

I just needed to find the owner of the scent at all costs. So I followed the scent, and it grew stronger the closer I got until it was all I could smell and think about.

I was always in control of my senses. All my actions were carefully thought out and planned. I wasn't impulsive and erratic in making decisions so it was crazy how a mere scent had managed to totally disarm me.

The guards noticed the people getting away and when I started my chase, they all thought I wanted to stop them from getting away but it was the owner of the scent I was interested in.

She was getting away and I pushed my wolf harder until I had her pressed underneath me. Everything in me came alive at that moment. Being so close to the scent and touching her, I discovered paradise.

I was eager to change back and gaze upon her beautiful face. Small round eyes that shone brightly even in the darkness. She knew immediately what I was to her. It was all I could do not to jump her.

And then my eyes trailed lower and I saw it. The mark graced her shoulder. You can imagine the shock I went through once I realized she had been marked by another. That she was tainted. That she allowed another male, a fat disgusting, and worthless male to mark her and make her belong to him. That she didn't wait for me and gave herself to another.

I was raging in anger and madness. I wasn't her first. I couldn't look at her anymore and asked them to send her away. I ended up hitting the alpha repeatedly until I was pulled away.

Still driven by blind rage, I wanted everybody to be killed. Including her but just at the moment the knife was placed against her skin, I couldn't go through with it anymore. I would be single-handedly destroying my own life. But I had to kill her chosen mate. And now, her body was reacting to the bond that had been ruthlessly broken. I wanted to walk away like I didn't care but I found myself carrying her into the carriage. I felt the stares on my back but I ignored them.

Even though they were burning with questions, they wouldn't dare ask a damn thing. My finger brushed the stray hair from the bun and I felt intense sparks shoot through me just at that simple touch. I jerked my hand away like I had been burned and moved away from the carriage.

"Load the rest of them and let's return to the pack" I instructed and the men obeyed. I shifted into my wolf and ran back to the castle.

I needed to run to burn off the intense feeling of emotions I was experiencing or I was going to make a bad decision. I sensed the pretense of another wolf and through my side eye, I saw Hudson running beside me. He didn't try to communicate with me through the mind link and just ran back with me in silence.
