Malik's POV
I was preparing breakfast when I heard maya call out to me.She sounded scared and it seemed she was crying.I rushed in.
Malik: what's wrong baby..(she pointed at muina, who laid motionless.Maya demonstrated by putting her head on her mom's chest, she then got up and shook her head, implying that her mom's chest wasn't beating)Maya:Maya had grown accustomed to her mother's heartbreat,so it was only reasonable that she got scared.
My eyes filled up with tears as I slowly walked over to muina and checked her pulse.I couldn't help but cry.
Muina was gone, she had left us.Maya looked at me curiously, not knowing what was actually going on.
I carried Maya away and fed her.I brought her to the hall and put on a cartoon for her.I then went back to muina and cried. She was gone.
Malik: muina,I know you are in a much better place, now you will be with Allah, you won't suffer anymore and I promise you,I will take care of our daughter.
(I kissed her on the forehead.I called her uncle and informed him.He had always dreaded this call. The next day, muina was buried.Maya had become silent. She didn't know much but she could sense that her mom wasn't around.)
I didn't bring her to the funeral, she was only two and wouldn't be able to bear the pain of loosing her mom.I would tell her when she got older.
I stood by muina's grave,I couldn't help the tears that came down my face.I quickly wiped them, because I needed to be strong for our daughter.
I went home.A few weeks later, her uncle had managed to get entry into the country.I led him to his niece's grave where he mourned her without tears.
At her funeral, all the doctors had come,it was nice.
