Jennie was utterly and beyond disappointed by what she saw. Huddling, shaking, and balled up in the corner of the room was an injured Mu Ting, whose entire body looked beyond repair — just like his disturbed brain. She anticipated the injuries on him but did not think he would be damaged to this extent. She wanted to beat a sensible man who can at least register the abuse. What satisfaction would there be in hitting a man who's already in this state?

Somi shared the same thoughts. She swiftly turned to Jackson, accusing him with her eyes. "Did you always have to take the fun out of everything?" She smacked his shoulders when he had the audacity to flash her a brazen smile, innocently blinking his eyes.

"What do you mean, my beloved sister?"

"Ew, don't call me that. I will puke on your shoes."

"Hey! These are from the latest season collection of Prada; I will skin you alive if you get them dirty!"

Haruto was walking down the halls when he heard his favorite phrase "Skin you alive." He rounded the corner and blurted out, "But that's my job!"

Somi jumped at the sudden interruption. She turned around, her eyes brightening upon seeing her favorite man child. Before she could even say anything, the ball of energy was already sprinting to her.

"Miss Somi!" He shouted in delight, like a child on Christmas Eve. He lifted her into a tight embrace, twirling her around in the air, hugging onto her for dear life.

Somi let out a squeal of delight, laughing at his usual greeting. "I'm always surprised by how you can pick me up with your frail arms."

Haruto tightened his arms around her, setting her down on her feet as he buried his head into her hair. "You're as light as newly ripped skin, so that's alright."

Somi blinked at the weird comparison. "Haruto...Remember what I said last time?"

Haruto pouted, "I should use civilized words..."

"It's only a reminder. Don't sulk on my shoulders." Somi let out a quiet laughter, running her hand through his light brown hair. "You can use it in the Underworld, but in public, you shouldn't."

She gave the big baby a pat on his back and pulled back from the hug, but he continued to hold onto her.

"I-I heard you were injured..." Haruto worriedly whispered, finally releasing her. He looked like he was on the verge of tears at the very thought. He physically examined her from head to toe.

Somi was glad she was wearing a long-sleeved turtleneck paired with skinny jeans that covered all of the bruises. If he saw the smallest discoloration, she was worried about how violent he would become.

"Yes, I was, but I'm fine now. Don't worry about it." She reached her hand up to stroke his head, but he was too tall for her, even in her heels.

Haruto saw her struggle and bent his head to her height, eagerly waiting for the pat. She ruffled his hair, a big smile on her face.

Haruto was in awe of her blinding beauty, his fingers reaching up on his own to poke the dip in her cheeks. "You're so pretty, Miss Somi..." He wistfully said, placing both his fingers into her dimples.

Somi chuckled at his reaction, her hands clasped over his fingers. "I know."

Jennie carefully observed the pair. She wondered if low EQ traits ran deep in the Manoban bloodline because it was very obvious this young man, dressed in an overly bright yellow shirt, was madly in love with Somi.

She glanced at Jackson who also did not notice a single thing out of place. She then looked at Lisa who also seemed relaxed. 'Yep, low EQ definitely runs in the family.' She paused and shook her head. 'I should not judge them; I share an equally low EQ too.'

Haruto sensed someone was looking at him. His head snapped to the observer, his eyes narrowing upon the hand resting on her hip. Who was she? Why is she standing next to Big Boss? He thought that was Chou Tzuyu's role, speaking of which, he hasn't seen that rigid and uptight woman in a while... He shuddered at the thought of her. She was strict and reminded him of the nurses in the asylum.

Lisa cleared his throat.

Haruto was easily on high-alert with his undivided attention set on his Big Boss.

"Haruto, this is your lady-boss from now on. Treat her better than how you treat me." Lisa commanded.

Haruto warily stared at her blank expression. He hoped she was not like Chou Tzuyu.

Jennie roughly elbowed Lisa for his words. Such an odd request, she wouldn't be surprised if red flags were raised and Elder Manoban discovers the truth.

Jennie's face softened into a tiny smile that brightens her face. She had an unapproachable-resting face without her smile, something she tried desperately to fix, but to no avail. "It's nice to meet you, Haruto."

Haruto perked up after he saw her smile. She looked as friendly as Miss Somi...

"Big Boss' family calls me Haruto." His eyes bounced to his Big Boss, "Lady-boss..." He addressed her by the formal title.

Jennie waved her hands. "Just Jennie is fine. Lady boss makes me sound old." She wrinkled her nose.

Lisa was silently listening. Lady boss sounds old? Then Big Boss makes him sound ancient... He debated if he should have his men address him differently.

"She's my best friend, Haruto. You have to treat her nicely, okay?" Somi added on, afraid he might be hostile. She heard rumors the last time he was introduced to one of her uncles, he became violent and threw a knife at her poor uncle's throat. It was needless to say that he was not kind to strangers.

Haruto slowly nodded his head. "She seems nice." He announced, turning to Somi. "And she's big boss' girlfriend. I'll be good. I won't throw...knives at her."

"She's not my girlfriend, she's going to be my future wi—" Jennie clamped a hand over Lisa's mouth, sending him a warning glare. He was the one who wanted to seem detached in their relationship, but he was also the first to slap his chest and declare her as his.

Haruto adorably blinked, tilting his head in confusion. He scratched his ears and turned to Somi for clarification. She chuckled, "Don't worry about it."

Haruto was too caught up by the angelic sound she made to even care about what she said. He obediently nodded his head.

Mu Ting overheard the entire conversation. His brain was mentally not there and he couldn't stop shivering and whimpering in pain. Nonetheless, he was able to eavesdrop on their conversation and understand the gist of it. If he made it out alive, he would surely cry to his ring leader.

Jennie realized the utterance of pain and discomfort had stopped from the man. Her eyes flickered to Mu Ting and in a low voice, she whispered to Lisa, "Where are the other people that were in the apartment?"

"There were others?"

"Yeah, I suppose there should be. There were a lot of alcohol bottles and cigarette butts laying on the ground. One man could not possibly drink all of that."

Lisa was pensive while thinking over her words. He did not have Somi's apartment searched, which was a crucial mistake. He texted Kang Seulgi, "Check the surveillance camera of Somi's apartment. Bring every visitor to the base for questioning."

Jennie snuck a peek at his text and said, "Or we can ask Somi herself about those who were present."

Lisa shook his head. "It's best if she does not think about the event."

Jennie glimpsed at Somi's smiling and carefree expression. She shivered when she thought back to Somi's expression in the hospital room. She agreed with Lisa. It would be better if she didn't ask Somi unless it was absolutely necessary.
