"Varun stop."
"Nah, tell me, did you kiss her?"
"You better shut up."
"Awww, look at you. Your cheeks reddened. My best friend finally has a girlfriend!" Varun shouted.
"She is not my girlfriend yet bruh!"
"Oh, whatever. She soon will be."

They had no idea who was listening in on their talk.

"Um, excuse me, Varun sir?"

"Yeah, what is it, Aisha?"

"Lakshmi Aunty is calling you."

"Oh okay."

Aisha nodded and began to walk into the kitchen.

"Bro, give these to her."

"Will she like it?"

"Of course, dummy. Now, go."

" Okay. "

Varun exited Alex's room.

"Hey Aisha...."

Alex smiled at Aisha, but she didn't grin the way she normally does, which perplexed him.

"Hi Alex..."

"I came here to give you something."

"Oh, what is it?"

"Here, open it."

Aisha lifted the lid to reveal the stunning golden bangles.

Her eyes expressed both satisfaction and dismay.

"Thank you so much, you didn't."

"Yes, I did have to. Wear it now." He spoke in his commanding voice.

Aisha gasped when she heard his voice.

She tried it on; it was a little tight. After reconsidering, Alex offered to assist her in wearing the bangles.

"How is it? Did you enjoy them?

"I love them!" She replied cheerfully.

"Alex, where is Rolex?"

"He might be in the backyard," Alex said while watching a movie.

" Okay."

" Yeah. "

Manushika walked down the stairs and noticed Rolex and Aisha conversing with each other.

"AISHA!" Manushika yelled, almost scaring Aisha and Rolex.

"Go and clean my room."

"Okay mam." Aisha said that and walked away.

"Why did you shout at her?" Rolex asked quietly.

"I was mad when I couldn't find you."

"But you didn't have to shout at her."

"Why are protecting her now?"

"I am not protecting her. She is innocent girl."

" Oho? " Manushika stabbed her face with her tongue and stormed out, leaving Rolex speechless.

"Hey Manushika, wait!" Rolex ran towards her.

"Are you mad at me?"

"What do you think?"

"Why are you furious at me?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

Manushika became even angrier as he explained why he said it.

"Fine." Manushika said.

"I am sorry."

"Sorry for what?"

Rolex responded, "For making you mad."

Manushika suddenly realised what she had done.

She quickly embraced Rolex.

"I am sorry; I don't like it when you talk to other girls."

It's okay, honey; I understand. But do not be nasty to her."

" Okay... " Manushika smiled at him.

-------------------------------------

"Who gave her the bangles?" Manushika wondered to herself as she watched Aisha remove it from her arm and place it in her purse.

"Who gave you the bangles?"

"Alex ..."

" Oho? When did this happen? "And why did you give you these?"

"I do not know. I told him I didn't want it-."

"Stop. I know you are faking it. Come on. Who doesn't desire such pricey bangles? Even a poor girl like you will never refuse them."

Aisha gazed at her, but said nothing.

Alex soon entered.

"Mohan uncle is calling you."

"Who? Me?" Manushika inquired, as Aisha rose up from the floor.

Alex said coldly, "Yeah."

"Okay."

Manushika rolled her eyes.

"When are you going to home, Aisha?"

" Now. "

"Okay, come. I'll drop you."

"No, it's OK. I'll go myself."

" But-"

"It's okay, Alex." She said firmly and left.

"It's all because of Manushika."

Alex followed Aisha and started the car. He came to a stop in front of her and got out.

"Now get in."

" But- "

"Get in, Aisha."

Aisha quietly entered the vehicle.

"I had promised you that from now on I would be the one dropping you." Alex quietly said.

"Hmm..." Aisha hummed.

"What's your favorite ice cream flavor?"

She paused for a moment. "I guess, strawberry yes. Why did you ask, though?"

"Because we are going to have one." When he came to a stop in front of an ice cream shop, he uttered that made Aisha gasp.

He motioned for her to get out of the car and join him.

"Let's sit here." He said, pointing to the park bench, after ordering two ice creams.

" Okay. "

Both of them sat down and began eating their ice cream.

"How does that choco chip taste?" Aisha asked.

"Amazing, you can have it." Alex spoke, and Aisha grinned.

"No, thank you." She was merely blushing, and Alex noticed.

"Why are you blushing?"

" Uh? Nothing. Do you see the kids over there?

"Where?" Alex looked to see where she was pointing her finger.

"There."

" Yeah! "

"They are so cute."

"So are you."

" What? "

"I said yes, they do look cute."

"Oh, you know, I've always wanted to adopt and care for a child. And I feel awful for the kids who are simply trapped in a room and have no idea what love is like."

" Yeah." (She is such a kind person, and I know she will be an excellent role model for our children.) He had a thought.

"Come, let's go."
