Marley's POV

"Mabel, can I ask you something?" I asked Mabel, receiving neck kisses from her in bed. Milena was in a different bedroom, fast asleep. "Of course, babe." she responded with a light purr, before she leaned back. It looked like she had some self control now, which was great news for me and Milena. "Why did you call us your mates? I thought we were girlfriends?" I then asked on what she meant.

"We are still girlfriends. I don't know what's been happening to me, I just suddenly gathered this knowledge of vampires. Mates are another term for lovers, but inseparable unless something tragic happens." Mabel answered, causing me to quickly understand. "Oh, that actually makes sense." I told her, "Good. That means I know how to use words." she chuckled, gently turning my head so she had a good view of my lips. I made the move by leaning forward, and our lips connected. I then turned my body so that it wasn't twisted, getting comfortable as I sat down on her lap where she wrapped her arms around me in an embrace.

This was a whole different kind of love.

"I think you know what I want the most..." Mabel purred in-between the slow kiss, feeling her soft hand go under my jumper. "I'm sorry if this is a huge pain in the butt, but can you maybe wait?" I then asked her, expecting a massive reaction out of her but she stopped what she was doing, sighing deeply from inner frustrations. "I love you, Mabel. I really do love you. You can wait until the time is right, can't you?" I asked, sounding hopeful in my tone. "I guess I can wait." Mabel replied quietly, before I turned around and rested against her, ready to fall asleep on her.

"Is there something you aren't telling us, babe?"

"You know what blood moons are, right?" Mabel asked me, "Yeah, it's a moon that's red." I responded easily. "You really don't know it's intentions?" she then asked, almost interrogating me.

"I'm not a fucking vampire, Mabel. So no, I don't know it's intentions." I told her, "And don't tell me either. Let us figure it out, me and Milena." I then added, before I moved off her and left the bedroom to go into the spare bedroom where Milena was.

She was still human, by the way.
