Later that day, Y/n was walking towards the Headmaster's office after Wahlberg had called him to his office. He was curious about what Wahlberg wanted since Y/n was the one who would barge into Wahlberg's office unannounced and uninvited.

This time, once in a lifetime, Y/n knock on the office door, and after hearing Wahlberg's faith voice, he pushes the door open and walks in.

"You need me?" Y/n asked,

"Thank you for being here."

"I planned to come here anyway." Y/n smiles,

"Right...So, about this first year. I've heard from others about him
That boy...Mash Burnedead, was it?"

"Yes. Mash's a good kid."

"I need you to watch over him. I've watched him once and I feel like there is something more to him than meets the eye."

Y/n tilts his head, recalling the times he saw Mash fight. Something about the boy's magic...Was it even magic? Y/n didn't want to doubt it. No one could have that incredible strength without the help of magic, right?

"I'll make sure to keep an eye on him."

"Thank you. You can leave now."

"Actually..." Y/n paused, he bit the inside of his cheek. "I want to talk about something...Well, I want to talk about me."

Wahlberg raised his eyebrows in acknowledgement, and Y/n took that Wahlberg would be listening. "I'm just...I'm afraid, of being exposed to anyone except you." He said, his hand went to his hand and removed it from his head. A pair of rabbit ears sprung free.

"What will I even do if anyone– everyone knows about this? I'm scared, Wahlberg." His ears drooped and his tail grew stiff.

"We've talked about this." Wahlberg sighs, "If your true identity were to be exposed, it's best if I talk it out for you. You don't need to worry."

"But– but you're carrying my burden. It'll be my fault."

"No, no, it will be no one's fault. You were born this way, and there is nothing wrong with that. I chose to take care of you, and that means you are my responsibility."

...

Wahlberg's tone left no room to argue.

"Okay. Thank you, Wahlberg."

"Of course, young man."

Y/n puts his hat back on, tucking his rabbit ears, before turning on his heels and leaving the Headmaster's office.

At first, his head was low in shame. But then he looks up as if he was locked in.

He has some missions to do.

One, don't get his identity revealed.

Two, watch over Mash.

. . .

Y/n was walking around the school, trying to find Mash, but then he saw the boy– who was going inside a dorm. And it seems to be Mash's dorm.

Y/n attempted to greet Mash, waving his hand and calling out for the boy, "Mash!"

Mash ripped out the door before his eyes.

Ah.

Didn't someone just say that Mash couldn't have such incredible strength without magic? No way Mash uses his magic just to rip out a door...
Y/n shook his head, his lips forming into fish's lips as he walked over to the dorm. He peeked from the doorframe and saw Mash, Finn, Dot and Lance...All standing together. Silence. "Hey...Uh, what're you guys up to?" Y/n asked, Mash turned around, munching on a creampuff.

"Just another peaceful day."

"Peaceful? We need to strategize ways...To acquire coins." Says Lance.

'They're trying to acquire coins! Hey, that's a pretty good idea for the first year's! Maybe I can be their mentor!' Y/n thought curiously.

"Hey, aren't you that pretty boy?!" Dot gritted his teeth, and angrily pointed his finger at Y/n. 'Didn't I save him from the forest?' Y/n narrowed his eyes.

Abruptly, Lemon entered the room, "It's awful!" She suddenly shouted but stopped in his tracks after seeing five dudes in the room. "Five men. One of me..." She hugged herself and squealed, flustered. Finn was dumbfounded.

But then she stopped again, turning nonchalant and told the guys to follow her.

After following Lemon, they stopped in front of a magic scale, and it showcased that Lang had had more coins than the other two dorms. "Look closely. Lang dorm has most of the gold coins. We have only...Three, and that's Mash's coin and..."

"Mine." Y/n announced, showing off his two gold coins. Dot gritted his teeth, "Oh, not only you're a pretty face, but you're also some smartass?!"

"Don't talk to me like that." Y/n glared at Dot, and Dot went quiet.

Anyway, Lemon explains that Lang has been nabbing the other dorms' coins. Unfortunately, the upperclassmen who could stop them are away from school on internship.

Y/n had tried to stop them...Once. He was good friends with the perfect of Lang's dorm and the Magia Lupus until they tried to steal his coins, but they stopped because it was impossible. Y/n does still encounter a few of the Magia Lupus's members...Barely. But other than that, he hadn't encountered Abyss and Abel ever since.

That doesn't matter, not right now at least. However...He has some babysitting to do.

. . .

'How did I end up here again?' Y/n pondered, dumbfounded as he stood still next to Mash in the owl hut.

He had followed Mash until Mash was called to the Headmaster's office. Mash caused trouble in the school, and now Wahlberg gave him a light punishment...And that light punishment is to clean the owl hut. And what did you know, Y/n agreed to help. And Mash was excited about eliminating Lang and acquiring coins...

"So much for getting right into it...I was so motivated." The boy muttered as a few owls started to peck his head. "Maybe next time, Mash." Y/n picked up a broom and started tart sweeping the place.

"Why are you helping me?" Mash questioned, giving the upperclassman a blank stare. Y/n hum, "Why not? I love helping out first-years. I do this more often than you think."

"Well, you're a good guy."

"I suppose I am."

...

"I feel like you're the first one who hasn't thought bad of me."

"Huh?"

Mash's face was unserious and serious at the same time, "I haven't gotten a good start with my friends at first. But you...You didn't try to fight me or say anything bad about me."

"I don't think I've said anything bad to anyone before."

"Sounds too good to be true."

"Maybe." Y/n chuckled. Unexpectedly, the door opened, "I've come to help." Says Lance,

"But...Why? Mash asked.

"Lang's after coins. That makes you and Y/n a target–"

"I don't think Lang is coming for me." Y/n interrupts.

...

"Why's that?" Lance questioned, frowning.

"They've tried. And if they try to do it again...I doubt they'll succeed."
