Chapter 44: Kuroyuri

Woods

Ruby: "Uncle Qrow?!" 

In the woods where they made camp, Ruby kneeled beside her uncle and was shaking him frequently trying to wake him up. 

Ruby: "Uncle Qrow! Please wake up!"

Jaune: "Is he gonna be alright?" 

Y/n: "Tyrian's stinger must contain poison in them. It must've spread inside into his veins"

Ruby: "We have to help him" 

Jaune: "We need to head to Mistral, fast. They might be able to help us, but we got to be quick" 

Ren: "We have to make a stretcher if we are going to move"

Jaune: "Good idea! Find something we can use to make a stretcher"

They searched throughout the forest and came across what they were looking for. They broke two long tree branches and a fabric that'll hold him. Y/n gently placed Qrow on the stretcher and Ruby and Jaune two hoisted the stretcher up. 

Y/n: "We should get a move on, if we wanna make it out of here" 

They all hurried to their next location. 

As time passed by, the group were now walking on a pathway that looked deserted, broken fence, dead trees and poor road. 

 Ruby: "Just... hold on, Uncle Qrow"

As they were walking down on the path, Qrow was muttering about someone and proceeded to cough. 

Jaune: "He's getting worse"

Ruby: "How much farther?"

Nora: "We gotta be close"

Ren: "Without the map there's no way of knowing... but I feel like we're close to something"

Up ahead from them was a sign with four directions on it. 

Ruby: "What is it?"

Ren walked up to the sign pole and saw the four names on it. Higanbana, Kuchinashi, Mistral and Kuroyuri. But for some reason, Kuroyuri's name was scratched off. 

Nora: "Hey...HEY! Mistral!"

Nora happily pointed to the sign.

Nora: "We're on the right path!"

For a moment, before she saw the last location. 

Nora: "Oh..."

Ruby: "Does it say how close?!"

Ren: "No. And it looks like the path takes up through the mountains"

Ruby and Jaune both placed down the stretcher. 

Jaune: "Guys... I don't know if all of us can make that climb"

Ruby looked at her uncle before running to Ren and Nora. Leaving Jaune and Y/n. 

Ruby: "Okay, well. what about this place?"

Ruby pointed to Kuroyuri. 

Ruby: "Kuro...Kuroyuri! Can we get help there?"

Ren: "That village was destroyed years ago"

Jaune: "But if it takes us around the mountains, it's the best bet we've got"

Ren: "It will take too long!"

Ruby: "The town would've had a doctor, right? Maybe we could scavenge for medicine!"

Jaune: "Right!"

Ren: "You're not going to find anything! We just have to press on!"

After Ren's sudden eruption, the group was silent as Y/n was kneeling beside Qrow as he was stirring in his sleep.
