Chapter 47: A Date

Mistral

In bed together, Ruby and Y/n were sitting on the bed as it was the next morning. Right now, they were discussing what Y/n wanted to do with the sword when he is gonna meet the blacksmith. 

Ruby: "What I think is the best is melt the metal off the sword and reforge it smaller, like a machete or two knives"

Y/n: "Will that work?"

Ruby: "Yeah, there are some blacksmiths who can reforge broken swords and turn them into new ones" 

Y/n: "A machete and a knife does sound like a good idea. I can keep the knife hidden as a counter attack"

Ruby: "It settles then, you have the sword reforged and it'll be ready when we go back to Haven" 

Y/n: "Alright"

The door opens up and Qrow enters. 

Qrow: "Are you ready?"

Y/n: "Yeah, let me grab my helmet"

Y/n grabbed his helmet and Penny's sword and left the house with Qrow. They walked to the middle section of the hill and proceeded to walk down on a path where the Blacksmith works. 

Y/n: "So, do you know this blacksmith?"

Qrow: "I know him, back when I was still in the Tribe. I saved him a while ago and he said that if I need anything, he's that man who I was suppose to come" 

Y/n: "Can you trust him?"

Qrow: "Not sure, He doesn't seem to be that bad" 

After some walking, they finally made it to the Blacksmith's shop. They entered inside and were greeted by the blacksmith. 

Blacksmith: "Hello and welcome to my workshop. I am.." 

The blacksmith stopped for a moment as he was looking at Qrow, and smiled. 

Blacksmith: "Will I be. Qrow Branwen. It's been a long time since we seen each other" 

Qrow: "Hey, Conner"

Conner the Blacksmith: "Why I haven't seen you in the past years, how have you been?"

Qrow: "Not much has changed. Conner, I want you to meet Wolf, He's my apprentice" 

Conner the Blacksmith: "Ahh, taking someone under your wings huh? Well, a pleasure to meet you. My name is Conner, I am the only Blacksmith here in Mistral"

Y/n: "Hello" 

Conner the Blacksmith: "So, how can I help the two of you?"

Qrow: "Actually, Conner. Do you remember what you told me? You owned my a favour" 

Conner the Blacksmith: "Indeed I do remember"

Qrow: "Wolf, got a sword here that he liked to be melted and forged into something that'll fit him"

Conner the Blacksmith: "And you're here to get them for free. I don't see the problem anywhere, so let me see the sword" 

Y/n walked up to the counter and placed Penny's sword on it. Conner picked up the sword and inspected it and its conditions. 

Conner the Blacksmith: "What an interesting piece you have here, Wolf. Good metal. Tell me, what do you like this sword to become other than a sword?"

Y/n: "Is it possible to create two melee weapon out of the sword, first?"

Conner the Blacksmith: "Depends of what you craved"

Y/n: "A machete for close quarter combat, and a knife for a counter attack"
