Chapter 48: Lighting the Fire

The House

Outside from the house, Oscar and Ruby were training some hand-to-hand combat. Oscar blocked an attack by Ruby and duck when he saw her feet and tried to kick him. Oscar and Ruby blocked each other's blows. Oscar was slowly picking up some skills in fighting, but wasn't good in comparison to Ruby with her experiences as a student and her sister trained her. 

Just standing a couple feet away from Ruby and Oscar, were Jaune, Nora and Y/n, while Ren was mediating just a bit further from the group. 

Jaune: "Man, Oz wasn't kidding. Oscar's picking up on this stuff fast"

Oscar throws a punch directly to Ruby which hits her in her face. 

Y/n: "Ooh"

Y/n chuckled a bit as Ruby looks back at Oscar with a look and growled. 

Oscar: "Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry!

Ruby swung her fist to Oscar which sent him flying to the ground. 

Nora and Jaune winced as what happened. 

Ruby: "Ha, yes!" 

Ruby hopped in one place as she was looking at Y/n. 

Ruby: "I did it!" 

Y/n: "Good job, Ruby"

They hear Oscar sigh.

Ruby: "Oscar?"

They watch as Oscar was holding his hand over his head and hear him spoken to Ozpin in his mind. 

Oscar: "Why didn't you tell me?"

Oscar placed himself up from the ground and in a split second, they saw his eyes glow and his voice changed. 

Ozpin [Oscar}: "Not bad, Miss Rose. But Oscar doesn't have the years of training that you do. Or I do" 

Everybody watches as Ozpin activates his aura and gets up. Ruby was beginning to become nervous and tried to break the training. 

Ruby: "Oh, ha, well, maybe we should uh, take a break"

They watch as Ozpin sparred with Ruby, hitting her to the side and causing her to fall to the ground. Ruby was frustrated, got herself up on her feet and leaped in the air and tried to punch Ozpin. Ozpin dodges her punch by ducking and headbutts her making her fall back to the dirt. 

Nora: "Ouch"

Ozpin [Oscar]: "The next time you want to throw a left cross, remember to push off the appropriate foot. And as always, so be aware of any openings"

Y/n walked towards Ruby as she spoke with a strained tone. 

Ruby: "Got it" 

Soon as Y/n lifted her girlfriend from the ground, Oscar took control over his body, he fell onto his knees and panted. Ruby seeing this, both Y/n and her rushed to Oscar's side. 

Ruby: "Oh hey, are you okay?"

Oscar: "How is this so exhausting?"

Ren: "Your body isn't used to this kind of training, not to mention generating a defensive Aura on your own. It takes intense concentration at first, but in time it will become second nature, allowing you to deflect attacks and gradually heal your wounds"

Y/n: "Or in my case" 

Black Tar forms around his right arm, transforming his human arm into a Beowolf's and his Aura channelling around. 

Y/n: "Allowing my Grimm parts to be protected from incoming attacks, mostly blades"

Ren: "After that, you can begin focusing on your Semblance, whatever that may be"
