Gael quietly walked into Aemonds chambers, having just come back from a flight on her dragon.

Her conversation with Alicent from a few days ago was still stuck in her mind. She knew that she was expected to be with child by now. And that it did matter more than anything else.

Gael was her mothers heir, meaning her line would need to carry on and yet a moon into the marriage no announcement of such thing had happened.

As she closed the doors she heard him speak.

"Gael" Aemond looked up from where he sat near the fireplace.

Gael turned around sending him a soft smile as she walked over taking a seat across from him.

"You stink of dragon niece"

I went flying to clear my mind"

"Something troubling you niece"

"Your mother spoke with me a few days ago"

Aemond lifts his head up and looks at her "About"

"An heir"

Aemond scoffs getting ready to stand up "I shall talk to her"

"Aemond no" Gael mutters as Aemond sits back down "I told her an heir will follow"

"Yet it wont"

"No one needs to know that. You said that yourself"

Aemond sighs and nods "Niece we can always try if my mother keeps bothering you"

"We do not need to be put through that again Aemond"

Aemond nods once more "Your mother writes again"

Gael smiles softly "She does"

"Mhm the letters over on the table" Aemond pauses watching his wife get up and rush over to pick the two letters up "Another is from your dear little brother"

Gael looks back at him not daring to say her younger brother's name, not when she knew Aemond wanted his revenge for that night on driftmark.

"I shall retire for the evening and read the letters in the morning" Gael states as she sends him one more smile before walking out of his room.

Aemond watches her go knowing full well she wouldnt be sleeping anytime soon as those letters would be opened the minute she got into her chambers and then shed be writing ones back.

Alicent sighs "No she is not with child yet father"

The lord hand nods walking around the hands chambers "It's been a moon almost two"

"She is still young"

"Barley"

"She is a girl just like Helaena"

"Yet Helaena welcomed twins in the first year of her marriage"

Alicent scoffs "Whenever my granddaughter does become a child you will stay far from her. She has nothing to do with you father"

"She is Rhaenyra's daughter and heir"

"Yes meaning Aemond will be at her side when she rules and their firstborn carry on her line" Alicent  snaps "Is that not enough"

"What of your other boy"

Alicent stands up "Viserys has had years to name Aegon heir. But he hasn't and that will remain as it is"

"You are letting your feelings show my daughter" Otto admitted as the green queen left the lord's hands room.

Gael loved her mother and brothers. She missed them more everyday that went past and she knew her mother missed her dearly.

She had received a letter from Lucerys a few times other than that it was only her mother who wrote to her. The princess was perfectly fine with that.

She would never admit that she missed her stepfather, daemon was well he was someone Gael never thought she'd miss. But he was the father of her two younger brothers.

Aegon and Viserys. Viserys was only a few moons old and Aegon was born in the first nine moons of her mothers marriage to the rogue prince.

Just as Aemond knew she had opened the letters the minute she was alone in her chambers then she proceeded to write back.

In the moment she read the letters she felt like she was back on dragonstone. With her mother and brothers. She no longer felt alone and trapped. And yet those moments only lasted a few minutes as every good thing came to an end.

Gael was in king landing surrounded by greens. Yes Aemond adored her, not in a Daemon adored her mother. But in a way an uncle was supposed to adore there niece.

Another week had passed and Gael found herself walking to her aunts chambers. In hope she could find someone to speak to. She enjoyed the little moments she had with Helaena.

Especially when Aemond was once more training with Ser Cole in the courtyard.

Gael quietly walked into her aunt's room to find her weaving. She stood at the doors watching as Helaena concentrated on what she was doing. But that only lasted a few moments as Helaena looked up as her eyes met Gaels.

"Niece" Helaena whispered softly as Gael walked further into the room "Come sit"

Gael couldn't help but smile as she did what Helaena asked.

"Is my brother training again"

Gael nods as she watches Helaena go back to her weaving. Every now and then her aunt would look up at her and make sure she was fine.

Helaena didn't need to say any words as Gael rested her head on her shoulder. Still watching the dreamer weave. Gael couldn't care less about talking right now; she was at peace resting her head on her aunt's shoulder and watching her wave.

Helaena felt the exact same. The two princesses were at peace like this, it was something they didn't have with their husbands.

An - No Aegon this chapter because i have plans for him next chapter
