chapter 2

They put their guns in hand helmets on the attack about two clicks out, so they got on the trucks and headed out. jake sat beside her they were off he saw her shaking holding her gun looking straight ahead. He wanted to reach out to her, but they would be seen they hit a bump her head hit his shoulder. Make her look at him he smiled she looked ahead but slipped her hand to hold his know he could feel how bad the shaking really was. He ran his thumb over her knuckles calming her a little bit didn't do much, but it was better than nothing.     

Suddenly boom the truck flips on its side they climb out of the tuck bullets are flying everywhere. They run behind a rock Molly didn't see Jake, but she couldn't think of that right now she started shooting back. she hit one then saw Jake running and shooting ok at lest he was alive she cannot run to him it's too risky.

 Just then her arm gets shot Jake sees it things go quiet she runs over to jake he grabs her arm ties a piece of his shirt around it. then they hear over the comms the last thing you want to hear fighting in war "bomb." Jake grabs her hand and they run as hard as they could. Jake sees the bomb and pushes her out of the way. She hits the ground and rolls she looks back and sees Jake on the ground in a puddle of his own blood.

" JAKE!" she runs to him he is passed out

" JAKE, HELP SOMEBODY" she kneels next to him trying to stop the bleeding

" MED, I NEED HELP NOW SOLEGER BOMBED I REPEAT SOLGER BOMBED!"

they call a helicopter and rush jake to the nearest hospital Molly is sobbing at this point they let her come with him. They were at the hospital in less than five minutes they rush him in by now she thought she would lose him. She sat in the waiting room for hours her friends brought her a coffee and checked on her.

" So how are you doing Molly?"                    

" This is my fault he pushed me out of the way."  

" Molly, he loves you."

" Yeah, and look where it got him now, he is in a hospital room dying."

" This is not on you Molly... you couldn't see it coming none of us could."

She starts sobbing she felt like she killed the man she loved the one man she felt safe with and treated her right. A minute later Jake's twin brother Tommy walked in and hugged her both of them sobbing. It was hard to even look at him he looks so much like Jake she thought she felt pain before but is pain no drill could prepare her for. For her it was something she knew she was scared for but when it happened, she wished this was better than of she imagined it. the doctor came in she didn't care how long he would have to stay in here I just want him alive.

" Well, I have good news and bad news good news is he will live, bad news is he has a small break at the bottom of his spine. we will have more information when we run tests, he's awake you can see him now."

she sighs in relief. " Tommy go see your brother."

Tommy goes to see him he opens the door to see his twin in a hospital bed a brennage on his head covering a gash.

" Jesus' brother." 

" T... Tommy."

" Just take it easy your safe now."

" The bomb Molly! where's Molly!            

" Easy she's ok she got shot in the arm and a few nasty cuts and burses but she's ok." 

" Oh, thank God ware is she is she blaming herself?"

" She is in the waiting room and yeah, she thinks it is her fault and it should have been her not you." 

" Oh god no Tommy it was not her fault I pushed her out of the way."

" I know Jake I'm not mad at her."

" Can you send her in I need to see her."

   He nods and goes to get Molly when Molly hears Jake wants to see her, she was sad and scared to see him it had to be bad. She walked down the hall and stopped Infront of the closed door what if he was mad at her. She took a deep breath and calmed herself her mind still thinking what if she opened the door seeing jake like that a knife in her heart.

" You wanted to see me?" She said looking at her feet.

" Of cores I do... my baby." He could see how she fighting tears.

" I... I'm so-" she looked at her feet sobbing

" Aw baby come here please. please Babygirl please." he pleaded

His words broke her as she walked towards him tears running down her face as she looked down at him. He touched the cloth on her arm with a red blood spot on it his eyes looked up her body seeing all cut and burses. She kneeled down beside his bed and ran her fingers though his hair looking at the gash on his forehead.       

" I'm so sorry baby it should've been me."

" No baby stop." this shit was NOT your fault."
