"(Y/n) kept saying the equations were off."

"Wait, you were with (Y/n)?" The voice of Vanya questioned.

"Speak of, she should be here right about... now." Almost on cue I was beside Five.

"Now that felt weird." I say. We were standing in the kitchen, Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya were all at the end of the table looking at us. I looked at Five... it was Five... but shit, he was younger, thirteen years old again... and that means, I look down at myself, the clothes were too big, I was young again. "I knew something was wrong." I looked at Five. He was eating a sandwich.

"Yeah, rub it in my face later." He said.

"I'm not entirely complaining." I give him a quick kiss before going to the fridge to grab something to eat, I was starving. "Date?"

"24th, March." Five said.

"Wait what exactly just happened?" Luther asked everyone looking shocked and confused. "How?"

"Not really important." I shut the fridge.

"Hmm. Guess we missed the funeral." Five says looking over at me the newspaper in one of his hands.

"How'd you know about that?" Luther asked.

"What part of the future do you not understand?"

"I thought they'd get smarter." I say walking back over to Five. "Heart failure, huh?"

"Yeah." Luther said.

"No." Diego said.

"Hmm." Five clicks his tongue. "Nice to nothing's changed." We made our way out of the room.

"Uh, that's it? That's all you two have to say?" Allison called.

"What else is there to say? The circle of life." Five says.

"You'd probably not understand much more." I add.

—————

Now we needed clothes that fit, we went to our old rooms. Nothing had changed, my room was beside Five's I walked to my closet, it was full of the exact same academy outfits. Not my personal choice, but what else was there. I groaned taking one with the hanger. Tossing the hanger to the ground.

————

Leaning against the wooden door frame I knock three times smiling as Five turns his head to me as he finishes with his tie.

"What's that smile for?"

"You, and the fact we're both stuck in these uniforms again." I walk over to him.

"You look good in it." Five smiles at me.

I kiss him. "You look good in yours too. Well, we best go down."

———

Five and I stood in the living room. Above the fireplace there was a painting of both me and Five.
I didn't need to turn around to know who walked in behind us, Vanya was always easy to sense, for someone who has 'nothing special' she gives off a lot more then the others.

"Well, at least it's nice to know Dad didn't forget about us." I say then I turn to look at Vanya.

"Read your book, by the way." Five tells her as he turns. "Found it in a library that was still standing." Five walks around her then walks closer again before stopping. "I Thought it was pretty good, all things considered. Yeah, definitely ballsy, giving up the family secrets. Sure that went over well."

"They hate me." Vanya answers looking over at him.

"Well, there are worse things that can happen." I walked in front of her.

    "Like what happened to Ben?"

We didn't say anything for a minute, Five spoke after, "Was it bad?"

Vanya nodded her eyes trailing down to the floor that still had that old yellow rug.

—————

The rain hit the ground of the courtyard, soaking the ground. The drops trailed down a statue of Ben. The clouds greyed the sky, paired with the light rumble of thunder, setting a fitting mood for the old man's funeral.

Everyone walked out holding black umbrellas, except Luther, Klaus, Diego and me. Klaus was holding an umbrella only his was smaller, translucent vinyl plastic with a pink rim. Luther held Dad's earn and Diego just walked out without one letting himself soak.
When I was about to go out I grabbed a black umbrella but Five stopped me.
"There's enough space for two, under mine."
I smiled at him dropping my umbrella back down. And joining Five stepping out under his.
We all stood in a line Luther standing in front of everyone.

"Did something happen?" Grace asked clueless still with that smile on her face, her programming must be getting old, or something.

"Dad died. Remember?" Allison reminded her.

"Oh. Yes, of course." Her smile fell.

"Is Mom okay?" Allison asked Diego.

"Yeah, yeah, she's fine. She just needs to rest. You know, recharge." Diego answered, his short black hair soaked.
Pogo walked up with his cane looking up at Luther. "Whenever you're ready dear, boy."

Luther exhaled, carefully lifting off the top of the earn, he turned it over. The contents piled sadly onto the damp ground scattered with orange and yellow leaves. Not the best kind of thing to do in the rain, I didn't really expect the ashes to react differently.

"Probably would have been better with some wind." Luther looked up at the rest of us.

"Does anyone wish to speak?" Pogo asked, there was silence and the avoiding of eye contact. I wouldn't have much to say myself, I had known him for a shorter time than anyone, five years, but I suppose he did adopt me when I hadn't grown up with the other, that's good I guess.

"Very well." Pogo sighed. "In all regards, Sir Reginald Hargreeves made me what I am today. For that alone, I shall forever be in his debt. He was my master... and my friend, and I shall miss him very much. He leaves behind a complicated legacy—"

"He was a monster." Diego interrupted, Klaus let out a laugh exhaling smoke from his cigarette. Diego continued. "He was a  bad person and a worse father.  The world's better off without him."

    "Diego." Allison stopped him.

"My name is Number Two. You know why? Because our father couldn't be bothered to give us actual names. He had Mom do it."

"Would anyone like something to eat?" Mom offered.

"No, it's okay Mom." Vanya gently told her.

"Oh, okay." Mom looked out at nothing, the smile back but a bit of sadness in it.

Diego raised his voice but not yelling and he stepped forward looking at us all, "Look, you wanna pay your respects? Go ahead. But at least be honest about the kind of man he was."

"You should stop talking now." Luther's voice was warning him.

Diego stopped looking at Luther.
