"He's crying for help, won't you help him?"

Eve's heart thundered against his ribcage, he sweats profusely, hands tightly gripping the sides of his shirt, his eyes burning but they couldn't dare look away as Alpha's eyes held them captive. He felt like he was being imprisoned by those big, dead eyes haunting him like a ghost.

Alpha lowered down to Eve's height with a maniacal gaze causing Eve to gulp in terror, his conscience betraying him.

Eve gave the man a terrifying side eye, blood oozing from his nose and mouth, every cell of his body yelling for help. Though Eve was a good-hearted kid, helping that guy didn't even cross his mind; in this life-or-death situation, helping others was the last thing he wanted to do.

Eve shakes his head unconsciously as fresh warm tears roll down his cold red cheeks. He flinched, when Alpha chuckled in his face, intensely staring as he sniffled.

"You don't want to help him?" Alpha smirked obnoxiously, the uproar and twisted expression on his face enhancing his beauty as if he was made for this madness.

And something tells Eve, based on Alpha's fascinating expression, that he was just waiting for him to give the wrong answer and grab the opportunity to catch Eve off guard with his insanity. This throws Eve into a never-ending dilemma because he no longer knows what to say to him.

Alpha looked menacingly content and happy to see him in pain. Which causes Eve to shiver uncontrollably.

Eve glanced towards River, in the hope of help.

However, he was taken aback when he noticed a playful smile on his face. Eve's face twisted in disgust. So this is his true face, his true colours. Sage was right about him, and he should have trusted him. But there was nothing he could do now but regret.

"Alpha, the kid's really nice and innocent. I don't know how he ends up here, but please don't be so hard on him," River smiled worriedly. He looked at Eve and nodded, "Be nice and he will be nice to you."

But then something crossed his thoughts and he abruptly stood up, "Wait! Where is Sage? Didn't I leave you with him, so why are you roaming around alone!" And this time Eve could see the real fear on his face, real nervousness while asking about Sage.

"Angh!" Meanwhile, Eve suddenly stumbled back and gasped heavily when Alpha suddenly raised his hand towards his face.

"Sorry, did I scare you?" Alpha pulled an innocent face, feigning concern as he closed his hand in a fist, the lack of empathy in his gorgeous silver-brown eyes that gleamed with absurdity were so still, it seemed like they were stuck in one place.

Eve looked at his calm face, which appeared as if he doesn't have anything to worry and fear about. But what Eve couldn't see is that there was so much going on in Alpha's head, so many conflicting thoughts circling, and scheming how he could torture the sobbing face in front of him because he found Eve's crying amusing.

The more Eve cried, the more frantic Alpha was getting to somehow resist his desperate urges to torment Eve to the point he would no longer be able to cry anymore.

Which piqued the devil's curiosity, the anguished lamb was just so irresistible that the king couldn't hold back himself from asking.

"What did you do to end up here?" Alpha demanded, because no matter how many guesses he made, anyone could tell that this trembling mess doesn't belong here. If Eve could cry this easily just by seeing someone covered in blood, then how could he be Alpha's roommate?

Eve flinched so hard at Alpha's question that his legs buckled and he fell flat on his bum. His ears began to ring with familiar screams and cries of someone as his eyes darted around the floor. He squints his eyes tightly, but the image of a young, cheerfully smiling face keeps flashing in front of him despite his best efforts to block it out.
