"Lia! Lia! Don't go! Don't leave me!" Will cried out, his dirty face drenched with tears and heavy, choking sobs. He reached out to a shadow whose face he couldn't see, but he was sure it was Lia.
"Will…" The shadow called out, its voice disappointed and angry. Will cried even harder at the upset voice. He didn't understand why the shadow was mad at him, but he felt intolerable pain. He thought he deserved death for upsetting Lia.
"You ruined everything. It would have been better if I hadn't taken you out of there. Then…my brother would still be alive. I shouldn't have taken out a monster like you among humans."
"N-No—-Lia…Lia! I'm sorry…come to me…Y-you, don't leave me!"
"It's too late now. My brother is already dead," the shadow walked backward slowly, disappearing from his sight. His cries grew louder. He called out again and again, but Lia didn't stop. "You killed my brother. He helped me to get to you, and you killed him."
"LIA! Ahhhh!!! DON'T GO!!!! LIA, DON'T GO! DON'T LEAVE ME!"
"I shouldn't have loved you. You deserve to be alone! You deserve to suffer!"
"NO LIA...
…Don't leave me!" Alpha huffed out, abruptly opening his eyes, while the remnants of the nightmare still clung to him in the form of cold sweat and tears rolling down his temple. His heart was racing, and he was unable to move as he lay emotionless.
His entire body was shivering, but the physical warmth of the person embracing him offered comfort to the chilling fear he had just dreamed. His thoughts were all over the place, and his mind was hazy. He didn't understand what to believe anymore. That dream about Lia or the sleeping person in his arms with whom he had just had a passionate night.
He was baffled about his thoughts about Lia, who constantly invaded his dreams. Who exactly is this person, Lia? Why does he always dream about that person? And why could he never see the shadow's face? There were so many questions that were making his head hurt.
Was it a symbol of something unresolved in his life, or merely a creation of his own imagination?
His gaze turned to the sleeping person beside him, Eve. The intense connection he felt with him was undeniable, but he couldn't shake the puzzling thoughts. What if Eve was deceiving him, just as he had done all this time?
His heart ached with the warmth of Eve's embrace and the lingering doubts that gnawed at him. And his chest hurt even more when he thought about the questions that had entangled his mind, unsure of what to believe or to whom his heart truly belonged to.
His eyes widened as he felt a hand tracing a path from his chest down to his stomach, heading towards a more shameful destination.
"Don't..." he faltered, catching that sneaky hand just in time and glaring at the culprit owner of the hand.
Eve's lips curled into a mischievous smile, opening his eyes. "Why? That's not what you said last night," he teased, his voice low and seductive.
Alpha blinked at him, struggling to keep his serenity and trying hard not to blush. He took a deep breath when Eve pulled him closer, their warm and cold bodies rubbing closely, and he began to rub Alpha's back soothingly.
His hands are hot. He felt his insides turning into chaos while seeing the angelic smile. It was still hard to believe that this person was acting all this time. It felt kind of like a betrayal. He was overwhelmed because he didn't feel attracted to this beautiful face…but surely felt attracted to this person.
Unable to face Eve any longer, he turned away, his thoughts consumed by someone else– Lia. But he knew asking about Lia to Eve would only lead to more anger.
