Mia was absolutely enraged at the sight of a weeping Charlotte. She didn't know what had happened and for the moment, it didn't matter. She had to comfort her sweetheart before she allowed anger to get the best of her. She had seen Charlotte get upset a few times but never like this. Mia cradled her head closer to her chest, playing with her hair to help her calm down."Shh sweetheart, I'm here now." She whispered into her ear, "Mia's got you. You're okay."
Charlotte was feeling absolutely mortified at what had gone down with Diana. She hated herself for even believing the possibility that someone could be romantically interested in her. All she ever was going to be was someone to fuck around with and then discard. She felt the weight of every heartbreak she experienced on her chest and it all came crashing on her.
Charlotte was deeply confused by how she felt about Mia. She enjoyed their time together and wanted to be by her side every chance she got. She didn't want to be friends though, she felt like she needed something more from Mia. She was falling for her and was terrified. The last time she had fallen in love it ended in a divorce where they barely speak now. So many thoughts ran through her mind as her chest quickly heaved.
She spared a small glance up at Mia through her tears and was surprised to see Mia's eyes were also watery. Mia wasn't one to express her emotions and came off as a hardass who didn't care about anyone. Well... except for Charlotte. Mia cared so much about Charlotte and would do anything to keep her safe. It hurt her to know that Charlotte had gotten hurt while she was away.
The argument they had gotten into was clearly not about Diana. Yet Mia allowed those jealous feelings in her head and lost sense of her main priority: Charlotte. She felt like a fucking idiot. Mia had seen the red flags and should've done more to stop Char. Instead, she had let the love of her life get hurt because she couldn't get over herself.
"Charlotte, can I take you in the back room or are you a little afraid of going back there right now?" She spoke in a soft tone, her voice not as strong as she was hoping it would be.
"I'm... I'm never afraid when I'm with you, Mia." She went to let go of her but Mia quickly put her arms back where they had been. She lifted Char off the ground and carried her to the back room so they could talk.
"Do you want to sit with me or next to me?"
"I want to be so close to you please." Charlotte felt herself begin to blush,"I just want to be with you..." She sighed.
Char had assumed Mia didn't share the same feelings because she had gone on and on about her to her face. She never mentioned a name and didn't think Mia was that oblivious. Mia meant everything to Charlotte and she had accepted that she'd have to be okay admiring her from afar. Many times she felt like though she was right next to her, they were so far apart.
But at this moment, Charlotte never felt closer. Mia had taken off her shirt so Charlotte could have some skin on skin time. There was something so special that the first time she saw Mia undress was in the interest of her comfort. One hand of Mia's was deep in Charlotte's hair, scratching her scalp softly and the other was hovering above her back.
"Sweetheart?"
Charlotte looked up at her, her tears had begun to slowly dry and her cries were just sniffles.
"Would you be okay if I put my hand under your nightie? I just want to be able to rub your back and help you calm down?" Mia pressed a kiss to her forehead as she nodded. "No baby, I need your words. Can you be a good girl and use your words?"
"Y-Yes I'd really like that." Charlotte knew it was wrong to feel so turned on by Mia's praise but she couldn't help it. She had never thought Mia would be so soft and gentle but the last few months really changed her mind.
