Jealousy or more?

Billie suddenly pulled back, and a shadow crossed her face. "Sorry, that was a bad idea," she mumbled, standing up hastily. Before I could say anything, she was already out the door, leaving me confused and with a pounding heart.

I sat alone in the room for a while, trying to understand what had just happened. Billie Eilish had kissed me, and then she was just gone. Finally, I decided it made no sense to stay here and went back to the party.

In the garden, a group of people had gathered to play Truth or Dare. My brother waved me over, and I joined them. Billie was there too, but she avoided making eye contact with me. My heart sank a bit, but I tried not to show it.

The game started, and the bottle spun. After a few rounds, it landed on me. "Truth or dare?" asked one of the guys sitting next to my brother.

"Dare," I answered boldly.

He grinned mischievously. "Kiss someone here in the circle."

My gaze swept over the group. My heart beat faster as I briefly looked at Billie, who was staring in another direction. Finally, I made my decision, leaned over to a nice girl I vaguely knew, and kissed her gently on the lips. The group whooped and clapped, but I could feel Billie's piercing gaze on me.

As I sat back down, I glanced at her furtively. Her eyes sparkled with jealousy, but she said nothing and stubbornly stared at the ground. The game continued, but my thoughts were on Billie. Could she really be jealous?

After a while, it became too much for me, and I excused myself from the group. I needed fresh air and went back into the house. Just as I closed the door behind me, I heard footsteps behind me. I turned around and saw Billie, who had followed me.

"I'm sorry," she said softly, stepping closer. "I shouldn't have just kissed you and then run away."

I swallowed and tried to stay calm. "Then why did you run away?"

"I was scared," she admitted. "Scared of what it means. But when I saw you kiss someone... I couldn't bear it."

I was surprised by her openness. "Billie, I... I really like you. But I don't know what you want from me."

She stepped even closer and took my hands in hers. "I don't know exactly either," she said honestly. "But I want to find out, with you."

I felt my heart leap with joy. "Then let's find out," I said quietly and pulled her into a hug.

Billie held me tight, and I knew that this evening, which had started with so much confusion and uncertainty, could be the beginning of something special.
