It was a hot day. The 11th of June, in the UK.
It wasn't usually hot, but now that it was, no one would be bothered for anything in school. Especially Sophie and her friends, Erin, Ayera, Laura, pheobe, And Amelie. They always sat next to each other at lunch, mainly because most of them weren't in the same tutor, but it was fine. They made it work.
" finally, it's nearly lunch. We can take a break from all this nonsense" Ayera huffed, closing her book ready to leave. So did Sophie.
" yeah, but the boys seemed really angry. I mean, it's only abit of banter, right?" Sophie laughed and Ayera did too. Laura joined them soon after she tidied her work away.
The bell rang, and Sophie dashed off, Ayera right behind, followed by Laura.
They saw Erin coming out of her classroom, and waved.
Huh? Sophie thought. Erin didn't look happy! At all, she was almost ignoring them, but Sophie pushed the thought away.
It's lunch.
" the line is too long, let's wait." Sophie said, looking at the line in despair.
" pookie!" Amelie called from across the canteen.
" pookie!" She hugged her and looked back to Ayera.
" by the way haven't you noticed something is off guys? You know, with Erin?" Ayera said.
Sophie nodded.
" yeah, she seemed very sad earlier. Do you think it was because we mentioned 9/11 at break? Sophie asked.
" why would it be that?"
" because...I don't know, someone might of died she knew or something ." Sophie went to sit down at their usual table.
" ugh, here come the boys" Amelie huffed, glancing at the big group. Of course, not all boys were there. Only the ones from Ayera, Sophie and Laura's tutor were. But they all knew the boys from the other tutors were secretly against them too.
" let's just ignore them.." ayera said.
" hey, why is Laura, pheobe and Erin sitting on the other table? We usually sit here!" Amelie questioned, looking at Ayer and Sophie in worry.
Sophie exchanged a glance with Ayera.
" that's strange." Ayera said. She got up from her chair, and looked over at them.
" I'll try speak to her" and with that she walked off to talk with Erin.
Sophie looked at Amelie.
" wanna get lunch?"
" yeah let's go!"
But as they were walking someone stopped them in their way. Sophie looked up to see who it was.
