(WARNING: this chapter contains depressive thoughts and uh oh moments! Proceed with caution. You have been warned!!! )
Gerbo hid under a bush and began to sob. His arms were bleeding from the cuts he had gotten from some trees along the way, he lost part of his right antenna as well from running into sharp objects. Because of his actions Hoppo was dead too. It was his fault this all happened.
“Oh Hoppo i'm sorry… I should have done something…” he said guiltily. He hugged himself for comfort. He was all alone and vulnerable in the deep woods. Sharp pains erupted from his bug arms. He laid down on the grass underneath the bush and stared at the bush leaves, tears pouring from his eyes. He sniffled and wiped his tears though it did nothing. He was too traumatized from what had happened earlier. Why did I just… stand there!! He got up then thumped back down. I can't move… where- how-... He sniffled and decided to try to forget about it. …my whole body hurts… Gerbo shivered and closed his eyes.

….
Gerbo woke up and looked around, he was a few meters away from the bush. He gasped and looked above and saw stars radiating from the sky above, it was nighttime. No wonder I can't see a thing… He must have walked away from the bush while he was sleeping. …what am I gonna do now..? He looked around and slowly got up, he clumsily ran over to the nearest tree so that he wouldn't falter to the ground. He grabbed a hold of the tree and hugged it. He didn't have the strength to walk, not just yet.
A crow landed next to him on the grass, it cawed and tilted its head. That's the fifth crow I've seen all day… Gerbo reached one of his limbs out to the crow to try and pet it. The crow hopped over to Gerbo and cawed again.
“......oh never mind.. Sorry crow…”
He waved his limb in dismissal, the crow backed away and flew off to a nearby tree. Gerbo got back up and decided to try and walk. His limbs wobbled but he didn't fall. It was like learning how to walk for the first time. He didnt like the sting and soreness of his bottom limbs, neither did he like the pain from anywhere else in his body.
“Hop–....”
He was about to call out his friend's name when realization hit him.
“...Oh…. right…”
He took one step forward then fell to the ground.
“...no one… here for me anymore… everyones-.. gone…and…. dead…”
He whispered. He was just stuck glaring at the grass.
“...I miss them…”
“So… much… already…” he added
He turned around and thumped to the grass. He stared at the stars, although he had slept he was still tired. He took one limb out in the sky. The stars… He weakly smiled. Everytime he closed his eyes the memory of Bugbo killing Gradient Joe played in his head.
“Wh-...who else did you hurt…Bugbo…?” He wondered as he gazed at the stars. They twinkled brightly in the sky, such a wonderful sight to be seen.
No one would find him though.. He was all alone, no one to view the stars with. He didn't like this at all. He was too used to his friends being with him. This… This just felt eerie to him. …I don't want to be alone though…I wan-... He paused, unable to think. He wanted his friends.. But something else lingered in him, something he was unable to describe to himself. He wanted to feel wanted but yet… not by force or by pity… just wanted .. just because.
