☆ - Final exam

((Haerin POV))

I itched my head, trying to figure out how to solve this projectile motion problem. I've spent hours on a single topic... yet haven't processed a thing.

It was hard to focus, the stress of exams was killing me, and the thought of her... my girlfriend. I missed her too much for me to focus!

My girlfriend, unlike me, was a socialist. The life of the party. She was popular with many, and widely adored. Even though that made me feel jealous at times, I was happy for her. Due to her high status, she often got invited to events, and after parties, so I'd rarely see her at times. She'd always ask for permission before going, and to be honest, there were a lot of times where I wanted her to stay... but I couldn't be selfish, and I did not want to seem needy. So I never held her back.

My girlfriend, Danielle, had graduated a year ago, and I'm graduating this year. Danielle is currently attending engineering arts, she's a creative, and smart kid, so it's not surprising that was the major she had picked.

As I was studying for my AP physics final, Danielle was out partying, and this time... it felt more difficult to be without her. I missed her. And I wanted her.

I picked up my phone, and dialed her number.

...

"Baby? You called?"

"Mm. Danielle."

"What's wrong, hon— It's too loud over here.. one second."

I could hear Danielle walk away from the loud music...

"Okay, tell me... what's wrong, my love? Is it your exam?"

"Mm. It is. Taking projectile motion in more detail is very difficult. It was fun during freshmen year..."

"Oh baby... you're so cute."

I heard her giggle, causing my face to light up... her sweet laugh... I miss her...

"I miss you."

"Kang Haerin~~~ Misses me???"

"No, no. I don't."

"mmh???? Really??? Kang Kang~~"

"I'm hanging up."

"Baby, don't—"

As I was about to hang up, I heard a person talk to Danielle in the background.

I listened quietly...

"Oh, Seunghan..."

"What are you doing here, Dani? The party's not over. It just started! Cmon. let's go."

"I'm talking to my girl- My friend, Haerin."

"The cute junior from last year?! Ah! The cat one?? Why are you speaking to her? Are you dating her?"

"No, I'm not. Don't be silly, Seunghan~"

"I won't judge... I mean, I used to date Soobin, that freak. Haha."

"Soobin wasn't that bad, I definitely preferred his friend, Beomgyu, but okay."

I felt my heart shatter for a moment, how could Danielle talk about another man? Am I overreacting? I knew she didn't want to make our relationship status public yet, but this was disappointing. She seemed so backhanded.

I hung up before I could hear anything else.

I sighed, and shut down my phone completely.
