CHAPTER FIVE | THIS IS A STORY OF HOW...

CHAY

Come back once he knows? Chay frowns, looking at the space next to him where Kim sat just moments ago. He doesn't like how empty the space next to him suddenly feels. He looks at the door, which is already closed again. Did he hurt Kim with his answer? He didn't mean that. The problem is just that Chay quite frankly has no idea what he actually wants from Kim. Or more like, it sounds too weird to explain what he wants. What is he supposed to say... oh, yeah, you know, I have no idea how I feel about you, but I do feel something, so I came here to annoy you because I want to figure out what that feeling is... Yeah, sure, that doesn't sound like he is a douchebag of a century at all.

Chay laughs at himself—since when does he even cares what other people think about him? Maybe that's an indication that his feelings are actually pretty real...

Chay stands up and makes his way out of the piano hall. He hopes that Kim has not walked too far away yet, and he is lucky—Kim is right there, just a couple of metres in front of him, talking to one of the bodyguards. Kim seems relaxed and pretty chatty, way more chatty than he was with Chay in the piano hall. That doesn't sting. Not even a little bit. Chay shakes away the weird feeling and walks up to Kim.

"There's one thing I know I want for sure."

"Can't you see I'm talking to someone else?" Kim asks, apologising to the bodyguard for Chay's behaviour.

Chay bites his tongue not to say something he would most likely regret later and waits like a good boy for Kim to finish his conversation with the bodyguard. Chay barely listens to the conversation, instead, his attention is solely on Kim. Kim is still wearing his uniform; he has his sleeves rolled up, but not all the way, just enough to expose his wrists—one bare and the other adorned with a silver wristwatch and a thin silver bracelet with a small round pendant, there's probably something written on it, but Chay can't read it right now. Hopefully, he will be able to do it later. Kim has his white shirt tucked into his trousers like a good student, and his fluffy dark chocolate hair is falling almost on his shoulders.

Chay wonders how angry Kim would get if he would reach out right now and ruffle Kim's fluffy hair. Probably very angry. So, Chay buries that urge deep within himself for now and rather goes back to admire Kim.

Kim's cheeks look so soft. They have a tiny bit of pink hue within them, and Chay wonders whether that hue is there all the time or whether it is just because of him... Is Kim blushing because of him? Chay quietly laughs at himself; he knows exactly what Non would tell him right now if he were here: "getting full of yourself again, huh? If he is blushing, it is because he is angry, not shy, my dear brother..."
