Tired Of Pretending

Jisoo stood in front of the towering glass doors of the Kim Enterprises building, her expression a mix of determination and mischief. Her job as the personal assistant to Taehyung, the famously cold-hearted CEO, came with its own set of challenges, but she had a secret weapon that no one knew about: she was secretly married to him. They had agreed to keep their marriage under wraps to protect Taehyung's reputation and ensure the smooth running of the company, but Jisoo's playful nature often made her forget to adhere to their agreement.

As she rode the elevator up to the top floor, where Taehyung's office was located, Jisoo recalled the conversation they had the night before. They were both in their pajamas, Taehyung typing away on his laptop while Jisoo flipped through a magazine.

"Taehyung, what if someone finds out about us?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Taehyung looked up, his icy facade melting for a moment. "Jisoo, no one will find out as long as we are careful. We just have to keep up appearances."

Jisoo sighed, nodding. "I know, but sometimes I wish we could just tell everyone. It feels like we're living a double life."

He reached over, taking her hand. "One day, we will. But for now, it's best this way. Trust me."

Now, as the elevator dinged and the doors opened to the executive floor, Jisoo took a deep breath and stepped out, ready to face another day in their carefully constructed world. She walked briskly to Taehyung's office, her mind running through the day's schedule.

"Good morning, Mr. Kim," she greeted as she entered his spacious office.

Taehyung glanced up from his paperwork, his expression unreadable. "Morning, Jisoo. What's on the agenda today?"

She handed him a tablet with his schedule. "You have a meeting with the board at ten, a lunch with the investors at twelve, and a conference call with the Tokyo office at three."

He nodded, taking the tablet from her. "Very well. Any messages for me?"

Jisoo hesitated for a moment, then added, "Yunji from the marketing department requested a meeting with you this afternoon."

At the mention of Yunji, Taehyung's expression darkened. Yunji had always been a thorn in Jisoo's side, constantly undermining her and making snide remarks. Taehyung knew this and had little patience for Yunji's antics.

"I'll deal with her," Taehyung said curtly.

Jisoo nodded, leaving his office to begin her other duties. She couldn't help but feel a knot of anxiety whenever Yunji's name came up. Yunji was ambitious and ruthless, and Jisoo often found herself on the receiving end of her sharp tongue.

Later that day, as Jisoo was organizing some files in the office, Yunji sauntered in, her heels clicking sharply against the floor.

"Well, if it isn't Taehyung's favorite assistant," Yunji sneered. "Still playing the good little helper, I see."

Jisoo straightened, meeting Yunji's gaze with a calm demeanor. "What do you want, Yunji?"

Yunji smirked, leaning against Jisoo's desk. "I just wanted to see how you're handling everything. Must be tough, keeping up with Taehyung's demands."

"I'm managing just fine," Jisoo replied coolly.

Yunji's expression turned malicious. "You know, it's only a matter of time before he realizes you're not up to the task. Maybe he'll even replace you."

Jisoo felt a surge of anger but kept her voice steady. "If that's all, Yunji, I have work to do."

Yunji leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. "You're so pathetic, Jisoo. Everyone knows you're only here because you got lucky."
