If I could share the feelings that whirl
Within my mind, within my heart,

Each time you look my way, I avert my gaze,

But you're unable to hear what my heart conveys,
And can't see what my eye displays
If I could be more than just a friend,
If I could bare my tangled self,
Why has my heart turned into my fiend?

You walked through those places often,
And noticed those empty streets,
You visited my home so often,
But didn't hear what my heart's repeats.
Your presence built a wall so strong,
