                            Elijah's POV

I trudged into my family's New York City home, exhaustion obviously etched on my  face. I had spent the day running from classes to classes, and I could still feel my mind reeling from the chaos. As i collapsed onto my bed, I couldn't help but let out a deep sigh, grateful to be in the comfort of my childhood home. I  had opted out of campus housing to stay with my family, because I prefer the warmth and familiarity of home to the sterile dorm rooms.

As i snuggled under the blankets, I could feel my eyelids drooping, finally surrendering to the sleep my body craved. While the city outside receded into the background,  I couldn't help but let out a soft sigh, home at last and that was the "perfect time" my phone rang.

I reached my hand to the bed stool to check who would call me by this hour because I knew that I wasn't the kind of person to have friends so who could this person be __ and great it was my mum which showed through the caller ID which kinda bothered me , why the hell would my mum call me by this time because I knew that their was no time difference between New York City and new Jersey so it's pretty late over there to , what could be the problem I wondered .

My heart raced as i answered the phone,
I could hear my  mother's panicked voice piercing through the line.

Rebekah: Elijah, it's Nicklaus...he's been in an accident!", Her words tumbled out in a frantic rush, laced with fear.

And that was when my instincts kicked in, and i tried to calm her down, speaking in a soothing tone.

Elijah:  "Mom, slow down, what happened? Is he okay?", I could feel her terror transferring to me , but I fought to remain composed.

Rebekah: He's in the hospital, Elijah. The doctors are still assessing his condition, but it's serious." Her voice cracked, and my gut twisted with worry.

Elijah: Who's with you, Mom?" I asked, trying to keep her focused.

Rebekah: I'm with Hazel, Georgia, and Esther" she replied, her voice slightly steadier.

Rebekah: "We're all here, waiting for news."

My mind raced with questions, but i knew i had to stay calm for my mother's sake.

Elijah: I'll be there as soon as I can, Mom. Just hold on, okay?" I could feel her relief, even over the phone, as she handed the phone to Hazel, my sister, because I suddenly heard her voice next .

Hazel : Elijah, we'll keep you updated. Just get here safely," Hazel said, her voice a reassuring anchor in the chaos.

Elijah: thanks sis am on my way .

My heart remained heavy with worry, but I knew i had to stay strong for my family. I grabbed my wallet and rushed out the door, my  mind fixed on getting to the hospital and being there for Nicklaus, my family, and myself.

As i raced down the stairs I saw our Butler coming out of the lounge and then I said

Elijah : call codax tell him to get the private jet ready , we are going to new Jersey

Old Butler Ren : ok sir , are you okay young master

Elijah : Nick got into an accident

Old Butler Ren : oh my God , I hope Mr Nicklaus is okay , he said putting his palms on his lips to show how concerned he was

Elijah : I pray to ; I said more like a prayer rather than a reply to old Butler Ren as I passed him

As I got out of the house I went to my car and opened the car door and got in and then drove to the gates which were now opened up already by the gateman and I was thankful to him for not delaying to open the gates  and then I drove out of the villa in full speed to my dying brother whose fate was not yet known .

I rushed into the Morristown Medical Center, my heart racing with every step. My mind was a jumble of worst-case scenarios, my thoughts consumed by the phone call I had just received from my mother. " Elijah it's Nicklaus.... He's been in accident . I'm at hospital , please come quickly ".

As I entered the hospital, I approached the reception desk, where a kind-faced lady greeted me.

Lady : "Good evening, how can I help you?"

Elijah : Hi, my brother Nicklaus was brought in earlier. Can you tell me where he is?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

The receptionist nodded sympathetically.

Lady :  sorry do you mean Nicklaus Williams , she said while looking up at me after getting her gaze away from the laptop below desk .

Elijah : uhhhmmmm .... Yes... Yes it's him . I said while folding my fist together ,I could feel the adrenaline in my body .

Lady : Let me check. Ah, yes... Nicklaus is in surgery right now. Your family is waiting outside the operating room. I'll direct you to the room."

She gave me the room number and directions, and I thanked her before hurrying off.

As I approached the operating room, I saw my family gathered outside, their faces etched with worry. My mother, Rebekah, was pacing back and forth, her eyes red from crying. My sister Hazel was trying to comfort her, while Georgia Nick's girlfriend, sat in a chair, her mother, Esther , by her side.

I felt a surge of adrenaline as I quickened my pace, my eyes fixed on my family. My mother saw me and rushed over, embracing me tightly. "Thank God you're here, Elijah. We've been so worried."

I hugged her back, trying to offer some comfort. "I'm here, Mom. I'm here for you and Nick."

Hazel smiled weakly and Georgia nodded in greeting, her eyes welling up with tears. I felt a lump form in my throat as I looked at them, my heart going out to my family.

Just then, the doctor emerged from the operating room, a somber look on his face.

Doctor: "Rebekah we've done everything we can. Nicklaus is stable, but we need to monitor him closely for the next 24 hours."

My mother nodded, her eyes filled with tears.

Rebekah: "Thank you, doctor. We'll be here, waiting for him to wake up."

I put my arm around her, feeling a sense of relief wash over me. We would get through this, together as a family. I looked at Hazel and my mum, and we exchanged a silent understanding. We would support each other, no matter what.

As we waited for Nicklaus to recover, I couldn't help but think about our childhood, our laughter and arguments, our bond as siblings. I prayed that he would be okay, that we would get to create more memories together. Even though we've grown more apart since our father died but I still loved him and am sure he knows that even though I don't show it and even when he pretends like he does not care ,deep down am sure he cares , nothing can ever seperate us  , I said to myself while looking at him on the bed through the room window with the oxygen mask on his nostrils.

The hours ticked by, each one feeling like an eternity. But finally, the doctor came out again, a smile on his face. "Nicklaus is awake and stable. You can see him now."

We rushed into the room, our hearts full of joy and relief. Nicklaus lay in the bed, his eyes groggy but a faint smile on his face. We surrounded him, holding his hands and hugging him tightly.

Elijah : We're here, Nick," I said, my voice choked with emotion. "We're here for you, always."
