(A/N: After being gone for a month I am back with weekly updates. I apologize for the lack of chapters. My laptop broke and I just got it back last week after the guy who I took it to get fixed came back from his three-week summer vacation. Anyway, enjot the chapter and as always I love reading your guys comments and votes. See you all next week.)

*Hadrian Potter*

"Moony?" I asked stepping further into the room.

"Hey pup," Moony said looking up from the book he was reading.

"What are you doing?" I asked looking at the glowing orb. "What is all this?"

"Potter magic," Moony said closing the book. "Powerful magic, especially powerful family magic will bleed into the land but land can only handle so much magic before it turns dangerous so most magical families have a way to store the access magic."

"I remember reading about that," I said. "But why does the light on that look like it is dying?"

"It is dying," he sighed and I looked at him. "When the blood lock wouldn't let you in I felt something was wrong and I thought I would see if I could figure out what it was."

"I thought family magic dying like this only happens after a century?" I asked confused remembering reading about it and Mione speaking to one of the professors at school about it.

"That is true," Moony said staring at the orb. "Your grandparents were the last Potters to live here full time and their magic shouldn't have faded that fast. The only other explanation I can think of is the magic is being drained but I am coming up at a loss on how."

"Can we undo it?" I asked.

"That would be a question for your father," he said and I nodded. "I can place a protective rune to halt the draining temporarily, but we will need to find a better solution soon."

"Will it last until we get Padfoot back?" I asked.

"It should," Moony said as I watched him draw some runes on the ground around the orb, and when he was done I felt a small surge of magic. "I will keep an eye on it but I have never seen or heard of family being drained that quickly from any property."

I stood there watching Moony as he stared at the orb and I was about to ask another question when I felt the wards shift and I heard Ron shouting.

"Mione and Ron are back," I grinned grabbing Moony's wrist and pulling him with me up the stairs to the main landing to find my adoptive sibling looking very disheveled.

"That bloody bastard," Ron was ranting as Mione was dusting off her clothes. "If we didn't need him alive I'd AK him myself."

"What happened?" I asked holding my hands up defensively as Ron spun on his heel and glared at me.

"Pettigrew happened," Ron snarled and I felt his magic swirling angrily around us.

"You found Pettigrew?" Tom asked as he entered and stood in the doorway of the sitting room as we stood in the hallway.

"He wasn't that hard to find," Mione said as she held up a small cage with a familiar-looking rat. "We found him in the alleyway of the most disgusting-looking bar in Knockturn. Before we captured him he cast a hex at us that caused the bar wall to collapse on us. RONALD, CALM DOWN."

"Sorry," Ron muttered as he stopped ranting and I bit my tongue to stop laughing.

"Go take a shower," Mione said Ron walked up the stairs and we all watched him go. "I swear he worries more than Hagrid does."

"After everything we went through it is warranted," I said. "I mean when Bellatrix was torturing you Ron was the one to kill Pettigrew so we could escape and get to you."

"I know. I'll apologize for yelling at him after I shower," she sighed and I grabbed the cage from her and watched as she stormed upstairs before I turned to Moony who I immediately caught glaring at Pettigrew.

"What are you going to do with that?" Tom asked, and I saw him also glaring at Pettigrew.

"He's going to stay in this cage until Sirius's trial," I said giving the cage a hard shake. "Mione's charms are strong so he won't be able to escape."

"Are you sure?" Moony asked and I could hear the underlining growl in his tone.

"You think this is the first time we've held someone hostage," I snorted.

"I want to ask and at the same time don't want to know the answers," Tom asked and I grinned before turning and walking over to the coat closet and opening the door. Pettigrew squeaked and started scratching at the cage bars only to get electro-shocked as I dropped the cage on the ground in the closet and closed the door leaving him in the dark.

"What?" I asked when I saw both Moony and Tom looking at me confused. "He betrayed my parents which caused me to be raised by abusive muggles and for ten years my bedroom was a tiny broom closet under a set of stairs. That rat can rot in the dark for a few days before he gets what he has had coming to him since he turned sides."

"The more I see of you the more I am shocked that you weren't placed in Slytherin," Tom said and I shrugged.
