Wei Wuxian paced around on the entrance of Cloud Recesses, a big smile plastered on his face, his black robes fluttered as he jumped left and right in excitement, his thick dark curls disheveled almost covering his entire face.

Three weeks had passed since Jaing Cheng left after having a brief conversation with his Senior Brother. "Let me at least tell our sister about you being sick.", Jaing Cheng had pleaded with him to which Wei Wuxian had stubbornly refused until the Jaing Sect Leader had put forward an irrefutable argument, "How do you think she would feel if you just left one day? Don't you think that she would be devastated to know that she won't be able to see you ever again, do you really want to deprive her of the chance to see you one last time?"

The little banter had led to them reaching the agreement that no one outside the Cloud Recesses except the Jaing siblings was to hear anything about it. A few days after he had left, Wei Wuxian had received a heartfelt letter from his Senior Sister, informing him that she would visit him in a few days with Jin Ling, she had made a point to mention that her husband would most probably accompany them although he did not know anything about Wei Wuxian's sickness or the fact that he was soon going to get married to Hanguang-Jun.

This is what had led to a hyperactive Wei Wuxian jumping around in anticipation, waiting for his dear Senior Sister, it had been so long he hadn't taken a good look at her. All he wanted to do now was hug her just like he used to before and cradle his little nephew in his arms and tell him about all the fun things he would like to do with him.

"Wei Ying!", Wei Wuxian's smile widened hearing the slow reverb of his name in the most beautiful voice he had ever heard, "Stand still. They'll be here soon."

"That's what you said an hour ago.", he pouted. "What's taking them so long? I bet it must have something to do with that peacock. Huh!"

"They're here.", Wei Wuxian tilted his head in confusion hearing Lan Zhan until he turned around to see golden robes visible at a distance. His expression quickly morphed into an excited grin and he jumped to run down the stairs but was stopped by a hand on his collar, "Lan Zhan, let me go. My sister is here. Let me go. Let me go!", he cried.

"Slow down. Stay. They will be here soon.", Wei Wuxian pouted and folded his arms in retaliation but stayed nonetheless. It really wasn't long before the golden entourage was at the gate. Wei Wuxian suppressed the urge to scoff at how extravagant all of them looked, not his sister though, she looked the prettiest, carrying a little golden bundle in his arms which she passed to her husband as soon as her eyes landed on her little brother.

Wei Wuxian didn't really wait for them to enter the gate before he jumped into his sister's arms, "Senior Sister, I missed you so much."

"Your sister missed you too.", she said in the sweetest, gentlest voice, "A-Xian, I missed you so much too.", her eyes were wet now, her voice broke as she tried to speak, "I missed you."

Jin Zixuan had never liked how close Wei Wuxian was to his wife, he had somehow always felt that the Yiling Patriarch was more important to his wife than he could ever be. He knew that Jaing Yanli loved him but he knew that she loved Wei Wuxian more maybe even more than she loved Jaing Wanyin or even their own son. Maybe he was a little jealous but the fact just didn't sit right with him. He understood that the bond the two shared had no romantic feelings involved, but it didn't seem like that of siblings either, it was much more, something he couldn't put a finger on.

Jaing Yanli was inherently sweet and gentle, she treated even the worst of people kindly but he had never seen her indulge anyone like she did Wei Wuxian, she treated him extra gently, with extra tenderness, if it was in her power, she might actually not even let anyone look at him.
