When I clocked out I was too excited to notice Niall walking up to me.

"Jesus, Niall!" I put my hand over my heart and he laughed in that Irish tone of his.

"Hey there, what's got you excited?" I bit my lip as I slipped my hand in my apron pocket and pulled out the slip of paper.

"Ari gave this to me." Niall's eyes widened.

"Is it her number?" I smiled and shook my head.

"I don't know."

"Well, open it!"

"Okay...here it comes..." I slowly unfolded the paper and read it.

Dear Zayn,

You're really cute...hit me up tonight?

****-***

xx Ari

"Holy shiz, it's her number." I grinned at Niall and he smiled.

"Glad you got it, and ya didn't even ask for it. But...don't you have a 'no dating customers' thing?" My mood entirely dropped.

"Way to rain on my parade, Niall." I slouched against the wall. Soon Niall had the 'I-have-a-sneaky-idea face' on. I stared quizzically at Niall.

"What are you thinking?"

"Okay, so you know, you could keep it a secret. Or...be less thrilling and sneaky and confront your boss that love is love, and you should be able to date her if you please. Which is pretty defiant and brave. So either one sounds great to me!"

"Everything always has to be an adventure with you." He shrugged and smiled.

"Maybe." I patted his blonde hair and we made our way back to our apartment.

"So...ya gonna call her?!" Niall shouted, plopping onto the red leather sofa we owned.

"I don't know...should I? And would ya keep it down?" Niall sighed and nodded.

"Yes and yes." I looked at the paper once more and smiled.

"Yeah...I will." I took out my phone and walked out to the balcony. I poked my head back in and gave Niall a pointed look.

"Don't make too much noise."

"I'm gonna make some noodles." He smiled and headed towards the kitchen. That boy sure was random. I closed the glass sliding door and leaned onto the railing, dialing the number. On the third ring it was picked up.

"Ariana Grande, business or personal?" She's in business? Never would have thought.

"Personal. It's Zayn, from Starbucks?"

"Yeah...hi Zayn." Now what do I say? Oh god, I don't even know what I was going to say.

"I really should have thought before giving you my number, because, I don't know what to say. I'm nervous. Wait, did I just say that?" I smiled and bit my lip. At least I'm not the only one.

"Yeah. But I'm nervous too...do you...um...wanna go out to this Italian place I know, for dinner? I'm a good friend of the owner...if you want to go." I knew it was childish and sensitive, but I crossed my fingers harder than ever, because I really liked this girl.

"That'd be great, Zayn! Is tomorrow too soon?" Thank the lord.

"Anytime you want, I guess. I think I can squeeze a nice dinner in." I at least need to try to act cool.

"Yeah, I'm a busy bee too. But I'll make time for the cute Barista." She actually called me cute...like, she said it. Oh my gosh.

"Cool. So, I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yep. 12:36, as always. Bye."

"Bye." I quickly hung up and ran back into the apartment...at least I tried to.

"Ouch." I was met with the glass door. I actually opened it, stepped inside, and closed it.

"NIALL!" I shouted, then heard a bang shortly after.

"BLOODY AYE!" I rushed into the kitchen to see Niall holding his red hand with his perfectly fine pale hand.

"The hot water got on it." I led Niall to the sink and turned on the cold water.

"Ya gonna be okay?" I asked as I shut off the water and handed him a towel.

"Yeah." He wiped his teary eyes and went back to the stove to stir the noodles.

"So, I assume she said yes to something?" I grinned and nodded.

"We're going to Ristorante Fratelli Milano tomorrow. The one that Frankie owns." Niall raised an eyebrow.

"Isn't that place more of a romantic setting?" I smiled.

"So?" Niall winked at me.

"Don't stay out too late."
