In a silent room without a soul to see a floating coffins opens. Yuu's breath is unsteady as he tips out, unsteadily standing. The phantom smell of decay made them want to puke.
he looks around for anything familiar, it looked like the room with the beast before it was destroyed. Slowly walking with nothing but the soft sound of his steps to accompany him. He steps out to a blinding sun...well actually it was a sunset but he never liked the sun. He walked down a stone path that was thankfully flat, the grass was a warmer green then what he was used to and the sky was a baby blue fading into warm pinks, reds and oranges instead of periwinkle that fades to magenta. Building were coming up from the horizon, all looked ridiculously expensive and were mostly tane stone as well as a absurdly large castle with many towers in a purple gray color tone. As he gets closer statues line the path, 7 to exact, most of them are non human and two have prominent animal features, one full lion and a woman with octopus legs. A voice breaks the still silence that followed him up until then
"Afraid it's far to early for any students to be arriving so I must inquire how did you arive here?" A tall man with a large extravagant coat and a crow mask asked in a voice distantly familiar, the fact his face hidden made Yuu uneasy, he didn't like not being able to look someone in the eye for intentions
students meant this was a school, to early meant it was currently on a break. The man had many keys so maybe headmaster of sorts, they could be for decoration which would be odd but Yuu as meet many strange individuals. He pulled the hood of his cloak down, still in the clothes he wore the day on the bridge
"don't quite know myself, I awoke in a coffin for no particular reason and I don't exactly know my way back home" his tone was polite and cold with hollow doll like smile to match. It was unlikely he was anywhere near where near his original destination tho he was doubtful he was even in the same real, the sky was a whole ass different color for Diablo's sake, he needed a ally of sorts in times like these.
"is that so? While I'm inclined to investigate more I will grace you with some trust for I am truly kind, follow me and we shall have the mirror send you back..." he waited for Yuu to respond
"Yuu sir, thank you for understanding" Yuu follows the crow man without much fanfare, it was back to where yuu had woke up.
"well Yuu may I know what you were doing before this, a unprovoked summoning hasn't happen in all my years as headmaster" the crow man looks at Yuu with gold glowing eyes now more prominent as night sets in. Yuu wondered how old he is
"I was simply walking over a bridge when..." As he speaks he realizes how utterly ludicrous this whole situation is. "When i passed out" he decided to keep the truth to him self
"is that so..." the crow man seem to caught up in his own thoughts to notice Yuu's hesitation "ah were here, come along now" he assured him in with a gloved hand
Yuu steps in along with him, his footsteps almost silent compared to the taller man. He was lead to the mirror that he once saw broken now pristine
"now think of your home while the mirror sends you back" Yuu thinks for a moment before imaging the town he was in before this, he had no home, a simple wander he was
"O Dark Mirror! Return this soul to where it belongs!" He states loudly in a theatrical voice
A loud silence fills the lifeless room
"*Ahem* L-let us, er...try this again. O Dark Mirror! Return this soul—" he attempted awkwardly
"There is no such place" the dark mirror's voice was abrupt and cold. Yuu wasn't truly surprised, bitter would be more accurate
"What" the crow man was baffled "ehm... well...I'm admittedly at a loss, i suppose if we cant send you from once you came we can sort you now and you stay here, you are likely a new student after all, but still let's check, Tell me: From what land do you hail?"
He considered it for a moment before saying where he was born "ረዐዪዕነ ረልጎዪ"
"...pardon..."
"ረዐዪዕነ ረልጎዪ" yuu didn't know why crow man sounded confused, he thought he was always speaking ዕቿጠዐክጎርል but if he thought about it he didn't know what language he was speaking...it was understandable but indistinguishable.
"Ah...it seems the translation spell is failing...it only ever fails with pure magic beings languages like fairies" he looks up at Yuu for a moment before sighing loudly "what language are you speaking child, In all my time I haven't heard it"
"ዕቿጠዐክጎርል sir" while Yuu was tempted to ask how this 'translation spell' worked but he supposed ዕቿጠዐክጎርል could mostly be translated to common. The crow man still looks at a loss.
"Your not pulling my leg are you kid..." he murmured all melodramatic before clearing his throat "while I am intimately aware of my students origins yours eludes me, let us go to the library and look it up, shall we?"
Yuu didn't expect much, he had pretty much accepted this wasn't him 'home world' if you could consider it that. The library was a part of the main building -the castle- and despite the many wonky purple shelves and floating bookes lit by the candeks that adorned the walls as he expected, nothing, tho crow man was a nice if not annoying conversational partner and had accepted the theory of world hopping. As they sat at a old brown table with a rough carpet underneath Yuu didn't like the texture off and many bookes and papers stroon about, Yuu remember to ask his name.
"Hey, who are you?" He asked casually, he had already dropped the fake politeness.
"You don't know..." Yuu nods "you just followed me around without knowing my identity! Have you never heard stranger danger!" He seems horrified at this "I-, I'm Dire Crowley the headmaster of night raven college, you're lucky I am a truly a model educator and not some common scoundrel" newly dubbed Crowley was as self righteous as ever.
"What else do you suggest I do, just wonder like a bumbling boffin as you so often do" Yuu rolled his eyes, he firmly believed he could handle himself thank you very much.
"Hey-!"
"On the note of identities I suppose I can drop my spell" Yuu interrupted before displaying a spell he does on instinct, it's a censoring spell that makes the user's appearance completely unable to be remembered by others. In his home world spells worked based on the person, someone who showed off their appearance like people do gems would have a difficult time completing the censoring spell while someone like Yuu who held no warm feelings to their appearance could do it without a second thought. Yuu's appearance always drew attention for on particular reason.
"Hmm? Is that you true appearance? Those ornate designs are quite interesting" Crowley smiled but Yuu didn't mind it as much as the empty smiles his handlers would 'grace' him with. His skin was like that of the porcelain tea set's the high priest used to collect, flora patterns and all. It was white and blue with occasional purple. Yuu liked to move in silence but this appearance made it difficult. While demons had the patterns first as they became more reclusive the pottery industry used patterns like theirs among many other things. While Yuu disliked most of his demonic features he did wish he wasn't stuck at 150 cm for all eternity.
"While the spell is easy it'd be annoying to keep up forever" Yuu shrugged. "So what now Crowley?"
"We've failed to locate you homeland and any official proff of identity so we shall have you sorted and you shall reside in the dorms till further notice, but before that what are you exactly if I may ask"
"...may i request telling you at a later date..." Yuu didn't know how demons -even only half bloods- were precived in this world. He'd have to learn before telling people.
"If it's a uncomfortable topic you may decline all together dear" Crowley pats Yuu on the head as Yuu grumbles yet doesn't pull away "let's be off now, it's already far too late for you to be up, children must rest you know" Yuu sighs and complains how he's not a child but follows anyway. A part of Yuu wonders if he'll miss his world only for a moment.
The answer was a resounding no.
