The school bell had finally started ringing, marking the end of the school day.

Rüya collected her books to get ready to leave. Çağla was her first friend in the class. She had actually known her since childhood which might be why Rüya found it hard to go talk to the other classmates.

Rüya rode with Çağla to school in the mornings, but couldn't ride back with her as she attended an extracurricular fashion program after classes.

"I'm heading to the house. Send me pictures of your sketch if you get done with it today." Rüya said while packing her bag.

Çağla was packing too, similing at her friend: "Of course, I feel especially inspired today!"

This was only Rüya's second week in this school. The way back to the house felt foreign even though logically she knew where she was going.

The all-girls school she attended was a nice building with a guarded gate and flower arrangements. She had thought that the surrounding neighborhood was nice, but on the way to the house there was an area with an old public school that was famous for taking in troubled youth.

The area around that school seemed to absorb the troublesome energy of the building with creepy looking alleyways and shady people doing whatever business they had going on.

Rüya walked past the old school. The students from there were leaving too.

Even though she was from a different world, it felt comforting to have other students walking with her. As she walked further and further, the other students dispersed.

Rüya heard a waling sound coming from a smaller street. At first she thought it was a cat. Then a silhouette of a person caught her eye. It was a person.

"Help.. could you help me?" the figure managed to say loud enough for Rüya to hear.

"Hey, are you okay?" She asked, looking around carefully. The person was way down the smaller street, so she was not certain they had heard her.

Against her better judgement she approached the person. They seemed to have trouble standing up.

As she got closer, she could see the figure of a man more clear. A shiver ran down Rüya's spine as she realized the man had a sickly smirk on his face.

At that moment she had only one option: RUN. She heard him running after her.

Rüya felt her heart beating in her ears, survival instincts had kicked in full-force.

Suddenly her back bag weighed a ton, dragging her behind. The man had been at a distance that had felt safe, but suddenly he was right behind her, reaching for her.

She had barely enough time to dodge a little to the left, but he got a hold of her blouse, ripping a hole to the right shoulder seam.

Before Rüya could even register what had happened, the man was ripped away from her with a sudden pull from behind.

Immediately after the sickly sound of his face getting punched filled Rüya's ears.

"Leave, and never bother her again if you hold your life dear. Is that clear!?"  an aggressive voice shouted.

The man took the boy's advices and started running away quickly.

The voice belonged to a tall, disheveled looking boy. He had curly hair, chocolate brown eyes and some minor scratches on his face. This boy had saved her at just the right time.

Rüya felt herself sighing in relief, the adrenaline subsiding. Her legs were made out of jello and she collapsed to the ground.

Not her proudest moment, but in situations like these the body reacts before the mind has a say in the matter.
