My sword still pointed at the idiot with the knife, Tyson threat sinking in. My eyes shift to look at the Alpha King. His expression amused. I relax my muscles. And re-sheath my sword. Taking a step back. Both Tyson and the Alpha King give me a questioning look. In fact everyone gives me a questioning look.
"He's not worth the effort." I simply state, my tone bored. My eyes still focused on the Alpha King. Keeping an eye on the knife; through my peripheral. I see the slight shock flash in the Alpha King's eyes. The emotion only there for a fraction of a second. I turn to look at Tyson (more like death glare) moving to return back to his side. "The only person who I'd be bothered to chop body parts off is you. I can't believe you talked me into coming here."
A smile breaks out on Tyson's face. "As much as I'd love to help out with your anger management issues, Demina. I'd much prefer keeping all my body parts intact." He looks at me, taking a small step to create some distance between us, before returning his focus to the Alpha King. "And now that all that is over I believe there are some terms of your proposal left to be discussed."
"Yes, this way. We'll discuss them in my office. The rest of your.. urr... people. Can wait in the living room." He says, indicating through the door. His eyes keep flicking to look at me. Where I'm still hidden beneath my cloak.
Pushing the hood back and pulling down my mask so it's loose around me neck, I shake out my hair. The luscious chocolatey waves cascading down my back and around my shoulders. Reaching somewhere around my waist. My greenish eyes standing out against my dark eyeliner. Capturing the attention of every male werewolf, mated or not. I know that I'm beautiful. It's not something easy to miss. Even knife guy seems transfixed by my gorgeous looks. I make my way towards the mansion. Stopping after a few steps. I look back at the rest of the rouges, who all are staring bewildered at me. They've just seen the most feminest thing they've ever witnessed me do.
"Come on boys. Let's not be scaredy cats now. It's just a mansion, nothing sinister about it, how bad can it be?" I mock them, my trademark smirk adorning my lips. To which they roll their eyes in return, getting over the girly action, brushing it off as one my usual theatrics.
They all start moving forward, Tyson out front towards the mansion. I fall in step behind him. Crusher, falling into step beside me. We all walk in behind the Alpha King and the others positioned on the porch. The beta staying behind to bring up the rear behind our little group. But not before he dismisses the crowd, telling the knife guy to stay behind and that he'll be dealt with after.
Looks like some one's in trouble.
After we're all seated in the lovely lounge room of the Alpha Kings mansion. Tyson and the Alpha King leave to the office to discuss the matters. Tyson made a move to indicate that I come too, but I shot him down with one of my deadliest glares.
I stand next to a window on the far side of the room from the beta, third in command, his mate, the brother, the brother's mate of the Alpha King. Crusher leans against the wall beside the window and I. The other rouges choose the middle of room. Some sitting, some standing. Their positions a few feet from crusher and but also a few feet from the Alpha King's men, and mates.
Crusher turns to look at me. He studies me for a moment before deciding to talk. "Why do I get the feeling you've been here before? And that the Alpha King knows you? I mean, I know some may dismiss that shocked recognition in his eyes as surprise of your looks. But as you said before we left, I knew the Alpha King. I know better than that, he knows you. And I'm pretty sure you know him, care to explain?"
"No, crusher. I don't care to explain. Now if you'll excuse me, but I'm busy planing my escape route."
"Just yours? No plans for Tyson in there?"
"Nope. Just me. I really couldn't care less if Tyson dies here. Along with the rest of you. No offence."
"None taken. We're all rouges after all, and it's part of the territory. Only think for yourself."
I feel someone staring at me. So I lift my head and search for the culprit. My eyes meet with that of the beta's. He's staring at me, his expression blank, but his eyes swirling with emotions. Mostly disbelief. He can hardly believe that I'm right here in front of him. I can tell he wants to say something, but not in front of all the rouges. His eyes move to crushers, and theirs recognition there as well. A amused smile graces his lips, he finds it funny that both crusher and I are standing together. Two people with connecting pasts, that turned up in the same place in rouge territory. What are the odds, right?
Personally, what I find funny. Is that this place really hasn't changed that much.
