It's midnight.
I'm currently in the pack's training room/gym. No ones here at this time of night. I have the whole place to myself. I've set up a training course in one of the private rooms. One of the few things I love about this place. Is the high tech gadgets they have in their training facility. The randomised attack training unit. You set a level of intensity, location and all that crap. Walk into then let the fun begin. The computer will randomly throw obstacles and shit at you. Then at the end it will spit out your score, any weaknesses or other things that it picks up on. Kinda like the training exercises they go through in the X-Men. Or that thing Katniss did in the second movie, with digital people she shot with those digital arrows.
Yes, I'm a rouge and I've seen human movies. I actually quite like human civilisation. I've been to the human realm once or twice. And I've enjoyed my stays there. And yes you heard me right, realm. The universe is a much bigger place than you think.
There are the four main realms that share an orbit. The human realm. The witch realm. The werewolf. And the vampire realm. They have more technical/scientific names but I'm going to keep this nice and simple. Because of their closeness. They overlap. And 'portals' per say link them all together.
Humans like to stay on their own realm. They normally don't tend to wander over. But that might be because the portals work on belief. If your near a portal, and you're open minded to the possibility of their other races. And believe in our existence. Then chances are, you'll cross over.
Witches like crossing over into the human world the most. As they share the closest resemblance. Witches don't really like vampires and werewolves that much. Especially not since the old war. Which you humans have all forgotten about, curtesy of the witches. The witch realm is a interesting one. It's very pretty. Spectacular really. Otherworldly, I suppose. I don't know how to describe it though. There's not enough words in the English dictionary, for me to give you an accurate mental image of it. But not many get to go there. They're not really friendly to visitors.
The vampire realm. Now that's an interesting one. And to be honest, I haven't really had much experience with it. The vampires I've come across have all crossed over into this realm. The werewolf one, obviously. I've heard many things of the vampire realm. There are many rumours surrounding it. Rumours I've always wanted to test. To see their truth.
The last one, as you'd already know. The werewolf realm. This realm. This beautiful, yet sometimes horrible realm. It's mostly forests here. A few valleys. A couple of mountains. The houses we live in tend to be build within nature. Not to the extent of the witches. Who have houses in the trees, or under hills, like Bilbo Baggins. But we like to preserve nature, as much as possible. We don't have technology like you humans have. All our power is run on the Moon. Fitting since we're the closet to it. We're wolves because of it. Because if it's magic.
But enough about that boring crap. I should probably focus more on this training exercise. Putting my best effort into it. Though I really miss my old training. The training of the Rouges. It's not the most 'humane'. But it's gets you by. There's nothing better than training with live targets. Targets that scream, and run. Targets that stink of fear. Real. Everything is so real. Unlike this type of training, where the targets are motivated by machine. Live targets on the other hand, are motivated by fear, and the primal need for survival.
You get to see how a person ticks. What choices they make. What kind of people they are. Weather their selfish or not. That if they're given the choice would they try to save themselves or try to save others. And of course all of these choices are made under-pressure. They only have a split second to decide what to do before times up, and they die. Harsh, I know. But that's life. It was never supposed to be easy and simple. No, it's a harsh cruel world out there. A world where fairytales and happy endings don't exist..... Well, that's not entirely true. There are some fairytales about. But they'd be the Grimm versions though. Not the pink fluffy, sugar coated stories parents tell their kids.
It's been awhile since I've been through a portal, and visited the other plains as I like to call them. Realms is so melodramatic. It makes them sound way more "cool", "fun" and "awesome" then they really are.
But since the war is on the horizon I suppose we will have to. Visit the others I mean. If we can wrangle the witches onto our team, then we will stand a much higher greater chance at winning. Not to say we don't stand a chance without them, we do. We stand quite a big chance, it's just that they'd be far less casualties on our part with a witch's helping hand. Even better if we get a few more than one. I'm sure the enemy has already thought about the possibility of involving witches.
We'll also have to ready the old battle grounds.... The 5th plain. That appears in between all worlds, a link to each of them, a age old battle ground so we don't destroy the lovely lands we currently live on. Well, so we don't destroy them too much. We tend to have pack/territory wars... Those can get pretty ugly. But I suppose that's a war between a singular race, it doesn't involve the other species. Mostly doesn't, anyway.
Funny isn't it. That while I'm punching the guts outa something that all my thoughts seems to clear up a little. Start making sense. And I can think things through. Reorganise my brain. Reset my goal path.
The first thing on our list is to get the other Alphas to agree, and join. Which can't be too hard. But as a rouge that not really my forte. So I'll leave that to his majesty. But I do know enough that, a big ball will probably be thrown here or maybe at another nearby pack, I don't know. Maybe they'll throw it on even ground, that nobody owns. Oh, now that'd be fun. All the Alphas will be invited, the betas too. The Alphas will probably bring along their Lunas. Not to forget their children, in hopes that they find their mates amongst the other Alpha bloodlines.
It will be very interesting. Every pack wears their crest and colours. Us rouges don't really have those.... So yeah, I suppose you can see the little dilemma. I'm sure Tyson has thought of that right? Probably not. I'll have to talk to him about it later. Knowing him though he'll put me in charge of that, saying I can deal with getting suites for everyone, and just ugh! I can already see it. It's a total nightmare.
I pound my fists a little harder into the target than necessary, snapping off is head. Whoops. I continue on, swiftly ducking under the arm the next obstacle for me to take down. My instinct being what is propelling me forward, and moving me through a smooth yet forceful kick. Hitting the next target square in the chest. The heel of my combat boots digging into where it's heart would rest if I was a real. A blow that would surely kill, or at least severely damage, almost kill.
The second thing we must do for this war, is see if we can add some witches to our numbers. If not a few vampires who don't side with our power-greedy enemy. Not sure the others will like the idea of possible vamp recruits, but I'm pretty sure they'll all be open to making allies with the witches.
Feeling someone else's eyes on me, I pull the session to an end. The computer takes a few minutes processing my score, analysing my accuracy and all that. I on the other hand, turn and look the unwanted intruder dead in the eye.
Not at all surprised by the figure. Just more than a little royally pissed.
