VioletteThe man named Arden drove past where I was living. My cardboard mat could be seen deep in the skinny alley behind a black dumpster with little lighting against the building's wall.
It seems they have finally finished fixing the building nearby and fixed some small part of the road too. The place that I was sleeping was next to a ballet studio.
I would often watch the beautiful girls who were my age dancing to classical music elegantly. I always wanted to try ballet but I knew I wouldn't fit in and I didn't have the kind of money to afford the equipment and classes to do ballet.
It has always been a dream of mine, performing on stage and dancing. To become a ballerina...I still had that dream when I was just a kid.
I glanced at it one last time as we passed the ballet studio, feeling sad that I probably wont ever see it again.
"Why the long sigh, little flower?" Felix caught my attention and held my chin, lifting it high so I would look up at him. "Is there something wrong?"
I shook my head in response. I expected him to let me go after answering but he continued to hold my chin, his eyes deep in my own. Like he was searching for something.
"I saw the way you were looking at that ballet studio, do you like ballet?" He asked me. I was taken by surprise that he knew exactly what I was thinking of just by looking at me.
I nodded hesitantly.
Felix returned an adorn smile to my response. Something hit my heart- no, more like a squeeze, like a light piece of ribbon wrapping around my inside. It felt...good?
"Do you take classes?" He asked, I shook my head in response, "I see." Felix mumbled and looked away from me to look at Arden.
Arden was already looking at us through the rear mirror.
"I'll find you a ballet instructor, how does that sound?" Arden smiled at me, I jolted up and looked at him with hope and happiness on my face. I pushed away from Felix and leaned closer to the middle compartment between the passenger seat and the driver's seat. My hand reached out to him which was laying on some weird looking flat shift stick, it looked like it was from the future, and it wasn't like a stick, more like a pad.
My finger delicately drew on the back of his palm.
'Really?'
Arden nodded in response to my question.
But why? Why was he doing this for me? I didn't see a reason why he would go through all that trouble, and even offer a job for me. I am thankful- beyond thankful that he would do such a thing for me.
I couldn't help the soft laugh that escaped my lips.
This is the first time I was finally happy for a long time. I was scared of them a few hours ago, but seeing how much they cared for me makes me all warm inside.
"Do that again." I heard a voice from beside me and turned to look at Felix, "You just laughed." He smiled at me, a joyous smile.
I blushed and didn't even realize he had heard it until he told me about it. I shook my head shyly when he suddenly pulled me on top of his lap.
"What do I gotta do to make you laugh, hm? Little flower?" His face leaned closer to mine, I had to lean back and let my shoulder press against the back side of the passenger seat because of how close our noses are, it's almost touching.
Felix's hand slowly slid up my thighs, to my hips, then towards my side. My muscle tenses when he starts brushing his finger against me.
It tickles, and I was trying my hardest not to laugh. I even bit my cheek to suppress the laugh.
