VioletteThe next day, I woke up and found myself on Felix's bed. I still had my clothes on, but his arm hugged around my waist and his forehead against the middle of my back.
I pushed his arm off of me and got up from the bed.
Last night, I insisted on sleeping somewhere else, like the ground, or on their sofa. But both Arden and Felix refused. They told me that their house doesn't have a lot of security. I knew they were lying because a house this big must have a large security system.
They insisted I should sleep with one of them just in case something happened, and made me choose between the two of them. But I didn't like that I had to choose between the two. So they decided for me by flipping a coin and I ended up in Felix's bed.
I was surprised he didn't try to pull anything, he was really sweet with me last night and asked if I needed more pillows or blankets and if I wanted the room to be cool or hot.
It was the first time in a while that I slept comfortably on a bed.
I walked myself out of Felix's room and into the hall, all the lights were off and it was hard to see. So I used my hands to feel the familiar things around me, like the railing of the stairs and wall.
I stumbled a few times but caught myself before I could fall. I walked further until I bumped into someone on the bottom steps. They quickly wrap and arm around my waist.
"What are you doing awake, babygirl?"
It was Arden, I honestly thought it was an intruder.
"It's six-thirty in the morning." He said as he brushed my hair behind my ears gently.
I placed my hand on his chest and it was bare, it startled me a bit.
'I'm hungry.' I wrote.
"I know babygirl, how about drinking a bit of juice. Then I will try to get you into surgery before the scheduled time, it will be okay." Arden gently rubbed my cheeks. I really like the love he has been giving me.
I haven't felt this kind of care in a long time.
'Thank you.'
"No problem, babygirl." He smiled, he grabbed my hand in his and pulled me somewhere.
I heard a quiet beep and something started to slide up against the wall, revealing the window and the rising sun from the outside through the distant tree.
"That's our blinds, it's automatic." Arden showed me the remote with many buttons and icons on it. I nodded in understanding and watched him put it back on the wall.
It was easier to see now, and Arden is half naked, with only a pair of pants on. His back muscles flex everytime he swings his arm while he walks. I noticed a tattoo on the back of one of his shoulders.
It looked like a card, the king of hearts card, but it's black and not red.
I touched it and that made him tense up, but then relaxes.
'What does this mean?' I drew on his back.
"Our grandfather gave us this tattoo when we were nineteen, he said it was traditional for our family to have it. My father has an ace on his back. It was our family symbol."
'Why do you have a symbol?'
"Our family is very well known and big. It's a small part of our identity." He said, almost sounding sad. "I have hearts, Felix has clubs, and Atlas has diamonds."
'Does the shape mean anything?'
"No, we randomly choose them."
Arden grabbed a cup from one of the cupboards and then opened the fridge to get a clear carton of pineapple watermelon juice.
