AtlasLook at them, she has them wrapped around her fingers like nothing. They know better than to not let their guard down.
Using the word 'cute' does not fit Felix at all. He never uses those words.
And Arden, clinging onto her. He has never been attached to anyone beside mother.
Violette is certainly a first.
Why is everything about this girl so fascinating? It's scary.
We need to get rid of her as soon as possible, this isn't good. Things can turn out bad, not only for them but for me too, and everything we worked so hard for.
I stood up from my chair and left the room with everyone staring at me. I made my way out the building and towards a car parked in the parking lot.
I spotted my black matte car and got in the driver's side. I started my engine and reversed the car out and into the main road.
My phone buzzed and I looked at the screen to see a missed call from an unfamiliar number that isn't so unfamiliar.
I have never seen that number before, but lately it has been calling me and leaving me voicemails a lot.
As I approached the red light, I picked up my phone and decided to listen to the voicemail. My volume is turned all the way up so I can hear better.
It was silent before there was some static noise, and a long beep.
It's the same for all the other voicemails too. I thought it was some kind of code if I try to decipher it but it wasn't. It's probably those spam callers who have nothing better to do with their lives.
I decided to ignore it for now and send a group text to Arden and Felix that I won't be back until nighttime and told them not to wait for me.
There was business I had to deal with regarding this girl.
After hearing what Felix had seen on her body, I feel uneasy. Something wasn't right, not about her, but about something else that I can't seem to point out.
I know better than to not care, but my instincts are always right, it's telling me to investigate. And that's exactly what I did.
I did a background on her and found what I needed.
Angel Church is where I'm headed, and it was where Violette's orphanage is. From here to Angel is an hour drive. I thought it would be further away but I was wrong.
I checked out the area beforehand, doing my research and getting Arden to look more into this place.
Arden was able to easily find history about this place. The church being built in 1812, it was claimed to be seen with ghosts in the building due to many kids dying.
Angel Church not only runs as a church but also as an orphanage. The place is a mystery, not only because of its history, but also its owner. Generational owners, they all have strange hobbies.
That kind of information can't be found publicly, it was in fact very well hidden, but we were still able to find what we needed thanks to Arden.
The first owner being Louis Angel Lorenzo was famously known for his poetry, it captured people's attention. However, he was killed in his own church years after reaching fame.
People began to notice an odd pattern in his writing style. At first it was all sweet and innocent, full of descriptive details about nature. But it soon became problematic, his style changed drastically to a kind of writing that no one dares to forget after reading for the first time.
