Atlas

I stood in front of the pile of people laying on top of each other in front of me. The gun in my hand is hot with smoke coming out the muzzle. All their lifeless bodies were in front.

My enemies and my comrade. They all died because of that mistake I made. I couldn't move my eyes away from the four familiar figures on the ground, dead and lifeless.

Arden, Sebastian, Felix, and Xavier. My best friends who are like brothers to me. They are all dead...because of...me.

My whole body shook with anger, horror, and adrenaline.

How could this happen? I was so sure everything would go right so how did everything I work so hard for, all came down like this? My hand was shaking aggressively as I glanced down.

But the sound of footsteps drew my attention away from it. I look back up and see a figure of a woman, her scent is familiar but I couldn't see her face. Her presence is so familiar to me...Violette? What is she doing in my dream?

Her arms were spread, for me...I wanted to step forward and embrace her in a hug. But my body didn't move. And just like that, her figure began to fade..

...No...No. No!

I try to reach out again but my body won't listen. I opened my mouth to speak but nothing came out, not even a whisper.

Violette!

I gasped and sprung up, I looked around my surroundings for any sign. But when I didn't see Violette next to me like how I left her last night, every part of my body froze. My blood cell stopped moving, my heart stopped beating, and I forgot how to blink for that minute.

I scrambled out of bed and rushed to the door. I slammed it open and rushed downstairs, the morning sun shining brightly through the big window. I sighed in relief when I saw Violette sitting near the island with a plate of breakfast.

"Woah, another nightmare?" Sebastian questioned as he fed a piece of scrambled egg to Violette. I nodded to his question and walked towards Violette.

"What time did you wake up?" I ask her, her pretty doe eyes looking straight up at me. I watched as her hand lifted up and showed me six of her fingers. "6 AM?"

She nodded and showed me the plate of food in front of her that is almost all gone. With leftover eggs, a piece of bread crust with cinnamon, and a muffin wrapper, and a side of grapes with only one to three small ones left in the bowl.

Violette reached out for my arms and grabs it to pull me closer to her, she struggled to pull me but I knew what she was doing so I stepped closer.

Her fingers began drawing letters on my toned stomach.

'You have nightmares? What is it about?'

"Yes I do. My nightmares aren't bad so it's nothing." I said. Yeah right, my nightmares haunt me but I'm not going to tell Violette that. I don't want her to be bothered by it and it was just a nightmare, it's not real.

Arden suddenly appeared from down the hall, completely dressed in his suit. "Do you remember what I told you the other day?" Arden asks Violette as he approaches the island. Violette nodded eagerly and stood up from her stool with a smile. "Your clothes are on my bed, go get dressed and then we will go." He said as he kissed the top of her head and gently pushes her towards the direction of the stairs.

I watched as she quickly went up the stairs. I glanced back at my friends and saw they all were staring at her. "I'll get the car ready." I said and left to go to the garage.
