The next couple of months went much the same. She spent one day a week with each Natasha and Sam, twice a week -with a few days in between - she would spend time with Bucky. At the end of the week, he would give her another "injection," and she was visibly healthier for it.

Her eyes and cheeks were no longer sunken, the former looking more alive with each passing week. Bucky and his friends found excuses to get her to nibble during lunch, and Steve had pretty much laid off the bullying.

In fact, he tended to forget she was there at all.

Isabella found this preferable, grateful that he hadn't scruffed her since she'd begged him not to. Able to sense the alpha was no longer hostile, his presence no longer pushed away the positive pheromones around her. Not that he was happy...more like indifferent.

However, his subconscious noticed how she'd changed in recent months, and he'd begun to feel possessive of her as of late. Ignoring her very existence until an alpha not from his pack acknowledged her.

On more than one occasion he'd scared some underclassmen away from his omega, annoyed that whenever he left her alone, people would gravitate toward her. Not all the time, but her alpha-repellant scent of fear had weakened, and others were slowly taking notice.

Damn it.

His eyes narrowed as he stormed back toward the couch he'd parked Isabella on, finding an alpha chatting her up.

Wilhelm DiBella, Captain of the soccer team and valedictorian of his high school. His pale green eyes were partially hidden behind dark, wavy brown hair currently in a longer on top style that flattered his face.

He looked a little nervous as he watched the broader alpha come over, hurrying to finish his conversation.

"I hope to see you there, Iz." He offered a smile and respectful nod, picking up his bag and efficiently getting out of there

Steve's nose wiggled as pleased omega pheromones came off her, his muscles relaxed in response as he took Will's seat.

"What are you so happy about? What'd he say?"

He took in her darkened cheeks, slightly excited eyes and elevated heart rate.

"Spring break starts soon."

He nodded, looking at her expectantly until she went on, fidgeting under his gaze.

"H-he invited me to the party at Gamma Phi on Friday. I...I wanna go. Can I go, Steve?" she begged, knowing she'd need an assistant to pull this off.

The blonde was stunned for a moment, anger flaring in his chest, making him throw an arm over her shoulders and pull her closer, rubbing his cheek on her head to scent mark her.

Isabella glared flatly at the wall as he essentially peed on her leg.

"We can both go! I've never been to a party, Steve! Please?"

In the back of his mind, he realized this was the time to start training her to push other non-pack alphas away. If she wanted to be around him, maybe she'd finally see that his pack was all she needed.

Plus, it would be an opportunity to rub his closeness with her in the faces of his competition .

"Sure, we can go. I'll have Nat take you shopping sometime since you can't go in...that." He gestured vaguely to her jeans, t-shirt, and hoodie.

Ignoring the backhanded remark, she thanked him and nuzzled his jaw while he continued to rub his cheek on her.

Of course, Isabella had noticed his change in attitude as of late. In fact, it was part of why she felt safe going to the party; she was sure he'd watch her like a hawk.
