Pulling up to the Radiant Runes Tattoo Parlor, Jade had a feeling she couldn't shake. Thinking it was most likely all the nerves from the signing and events going on, she didn't give it to much thought like she should have.
Alaric put the car in park and jumped out before running around the car to open the door for Jade. "I got a few errands to run while you are in there and should be back out here before you're out. Call if you are out sooner and don't see me, I will be right back here."
Taking his hand and grabbing all she needed from the car before hugging him.
"Thank you, love. See you when I get out."
She knew he wouldn't pull away until she was inside knowing she would be safe there, Jade hurried to the door waving as she reached for the handle. Walking through the ornate doors, she took in the parlor enchanting aura, with walls adorned with ancient runes and mystical symbols that seem to shimmer in the dim candlelight. The ambiance is both welcoming and mysterious, drawing so many people in. Jade was one of their first customers and always comes to her favorite tattoo artis.
There were a couple of people sitting in the lobby area and a cute pixie behind the counter that always loved to flirt with Jade.
"Hello Jade," Alice shrieked with excitement when she saw Jade walk through the door. "I saw you had an appointment this week and couldn't wait to see you. Made sure I was working today."
Smiling as she walked up to the reception desk, she reached over to give Alice a hug. "It is so nice to see you again babe, I have missed you so much." Pulling away she could see Alice glow for a moment.
"James is just finishing up and then he will be ready for you once he cleans up. You know where everything is if you need anything."
Jade being a long-time customer and loyal one at that, it was almost like a second home for Jade, and everyone here was like a family.
"Thank you beautiful." She watched as Alice melted as she walked away, grabbing a water, and taking a seat.
She shared a friendly smile with the two sitting there while she waited for her artist.
"Excuse me one of the woman spoke up. "Are you Jade Hollowcrest?"
She looked up at them again before answering noticing they looked very familiar. She also forgets her newfound fame has people recognizing her everywhere she goes. "Yes, I am," she giggles, "I take it you have read my books?"
Both of them shaking their heads that they have, the short hair blond one introduced themselves as Sam and the other as Jessica. Even though the fame was new, she loved meeting people that loved her books. A moment of chatting between them when James came over letting Jade know he was ready.
Some time passed, Jade and James got lost in conversation when they overheard the other two talking about something and all joined in debating some world things and talking about events this weekend. It was after some time when James was just about finished that things took a turn when the fan named Jessica mentioned the high school she attended. At first Jades eyes were closed as she commented that she went to the same high school asking Jessica what year she graduated.
"2010"
Jade's eyes opened and her heart began to race slightly. Trying to laugh it off knowing that there had to be more than the one she once knew but was having a hard time recalling any other. Her eyes darted to the mirror on the wall to see if she could see their faces. She knew they looked familiar, but it couldn't be who she thinks it is. Could it? It wasn't until her eyes met Sams in the mirror and Sams voice triggered all the memories to come crashing in on her at once did it click why they were familiar, because she knew them.
